Well, I don't know your situation or your staff. I only know your results. You say you had an editor before I asked, but R+V 7 was released after I asked, and I can't see any signs of that editor you claim to have brought in, or for that matter any quality-checking at all. There were quite a few problems (mostly simple accidents, typoes, misplaced lines, and stuff like that) that resulted in very clear issues like a character's dialogue displaying five seconds early and disappearing just as he started talking, things that would definitely have been caught if only someone had watched the episode just once before release, or for that matter even after release. Now, don't misunderstand me. People make mistakes, I know that, and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm not trying to insult you guys or anything. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but when I see a mistake in a finished product, I don't blame the translator, or the timer, or anything like that. I blame the quality control guys, the guys who were supposed to look at the thing and make sure no mistakes slipped through. If there aren't any, I blame anyone who watched it after it was done but before it was posted, such as (in many cases) the editor. If no one watched it to check for errors before distribution started, then that's a problem by itself, but it's okay, because they'll find out about any major problems soon enough and then they can fix the issues and release a v2; which, by the way, I strongly suggest you do for R+V episode 7. You can use my script for that, I'm fairly sure I fixed all the major timing/typesetting errors, though I'm downloading the RAW right now so I can verify it myself. There were also some parts of the translation that looked odd; however, while I know just enough Japanese to notice when something seems off, I don't know enough to know what's right and what's wrong, so I couldn't fix it myself. However, the editor's notes packaged with my script list everything that I thought might be worth double-checking, though it's not strictly necessary. |

I take it from the new release coupled with the lack of any clear response that I've been rejected? |

yea really love the hostility in this thread, @gelmax, if it was up to me id let ya, an extra editor would only help. but what ill also say is that editing is just an extra, like surfin whatever said in a bitchy way, we are mostly speed subs so we will release the sub quickly and worry about grammar last, and we do edit, its just that we do it so quickly that things get over looked. pm desi and animesekai since this is up to those two. |
