Respect - • Remember the saying “You have to give respect to earn it”? That’s how things here work. If you would like to stay here as a valued member of Atuan, the Admins deserve your respect, and so do all the other members.
• Don’t Flame, Insult or Cause trouble for other players in any way. This will result in your deletion!
Advertising - • Please DO NOT advertise your website via PM’s. We created a section especially for advertising, we’ve even made it Guest Friendly. Please respect us in this matter.
OOC Posting - • When you are in a IC, or In Character, thread, and you would like to say something Out of Character, please use either [] or () to indicate this.
Names* - • Names are very important. A characters name can say a lot about that character, so it’s important that you take the time to think up a proper one. If you want to be a part of Atuan there are a few important things you must know:
• As with any given name you must register with a FIRST and a LAST NAME.
GOOD EXAMPLE: Jane Smith
BAD EXAMPLE: JaneSmith, JaNe SmItH, jane_smith, jane smith, Jane_Smtih, janesmith007
Activity - • Please stay Active. If you (the player) are inactive for more than two weeks without prior notification to the admin, you will be deleted.
Applications - • You must fill in the application within five days of registering. If you do not, your character will be deleted.
• We will accept Canons and Originals, but we do hope to fill as many of the Canon spots as quickly as possible.
• Also, please try to keep the balance between Males and Females! Admin likes Romance.
Signatures - • No images exceeding 450x250 pix. (width and height) allowed. Any larger image will be removed. This is non-negotiable.
• Please don’t use any rude or mature language in your signatures. Keep them appropriate or lose them.
Legality- • No persons under the age of 13 are allowed to join Atuan. We are not responsible of age misinterpretations and any accounts belonging to underage people will be deleted.
• Any other persons are not allowed to post any links to photos without prior permission.
• You follow links away from Atuan at your own risk. We assume no responsibility. WE do ask that you report any inappropriate content.
• Do not post any private information about yourself, for ex. Telephone numbers or addresses.

General- • You are only allowed 1 account to start with. After a certain validation period (2-3 weeks) in which you have become full active in at least three threads, posting at least once every 1-2 days, you may request being reviewed for more accounts.
• Please contact the ArchM. if you need to have something changes involving admin approval
• Respect people who hold a higher power to you. It is only fair you treat them with the respect they deserve.
• Now for the most important rule of all, if the sillies…HAVE FUN!! Why are you here if not for that reason? But don’t get caught up in this world. Real Life is still out there!

• Please do not use the names of celebrities. First name or Last name, yes, but full names are strictly prohibited.
• Please give yourself a First and Last name separated by a space. Middle names are allowed but please register with them only as a letter, ex. Kimalyn J. Lint. We don’t need names the length of the Great Wall of China.
• Please refrain from using your real name, for security purposes.
• Do not include any symbols or numbers in your name. Keep it simple – Letters and Spaces
• Admin hates Lawyers
• Do NOT use sexual, violent, abusive or rude names in public. If you absolutely must use some mild rude wording, post a warning in the topic title/pm and administrator and have them move the topic to a protected forum.
• Like I said, think about your name. There will be NO name changes, unless by marriage or a pre-discussed reason with the Administrator.

Rules for Posting
The following rules have been brought in to help the site run smoothly and keep everyone happy. Please follow them closely. Braking these rules can result in being banned.
- • Try to keep your post creative. If you’re not feeling creative, wait a day before replying, instead of posting short, unacceptable replies, like, “He said he agreed.” Or similar. Try to keep post word amounts above 150 words.
• Try to keep your post in the correct thread! There are no classes in caves, and you’ll certainly not be eating your food in the professors office or use the lavatory while in the Banquet Hall.
• Please keep to the thread topic. Don’t butt in on a conversation about old friends to talk about the lotto you won.
• Don not post multiple times. There is an edit button for a reason. Multiposting is a first warning offence.
• Please, please, PLEASE use a spell checker before posting! It saves everyone so much grief, and I’m sure you won’t be happy to gain warning points because you simply didn’t use correct grammar or punctuation.
• This site is rated R. If you fall under the age of 16 we cannot be held responsible. If you are going to cuss or have sexual content please label your thread.
•If your character ends up having sex remember there are consequences. If you want your character to end up pregnant it must be approved by an admin.
•You need an avatar before posting. If you can not produce one for any reason let me know and I will help you to get one. Avatars need to be 150px x 150px
• DO NOT SPAM. I don’t care how loyal a member you are, the first time you spam, you are gone. Not suspended or banned – DELETED FOR GOOD.

Role Playing- • Do not god-mode. This means that you take it upon yourself to make decisions for other characters. Everyone has their free will. Allow them to use it.
• No Power-tripping. No one is perfect. Let’s try too keep it that way. It’ll only be more fun if everyone has some flaws.
• Please don’t create a thread where only two of your own characters are active. This is pointless and ultimately not much fun. It’s also unfair where post count is concerned.
• Remember – AGE IS IMPORTANT. Only witches and wizards age 17 and above are allowed to study at the University. Please act your age. Show a little maturity people!
• Try to open as many [open] thread as possible, and keep tagged or exclusive ones to a minimum so as to involve as many of the other players as possible. At the very least make it a [tag + open].
• Don’t be a Copycat. There are two ways that you can turn into the ever-hated bootlegger(that means plagiarist). The first is when you simply copy something the person before you has said and paste it in your own post to make it look longer or make more senseThe second way to steal someone elses ideas and work is by going somewhere, copying their posts and after changing a few things, post it as your own. If I should notice this offense even once, there is no way you are getting back on this board, my friend.
•Drama is welcome here, it makes things a lot more fun. But not if it’s being overdone. This is not a soap opera, and I’d like to keep it that way. The admin is a drama queen.
Here’s a list of things that are allowed(with Admin approval beings given first) but not encouraged:
Pregnancy – that’s obvious
Self-Mutilation – harming oneself in any way, for example, cutting.
Addiction – using of drugs, or any other substance
Depression – wallowing in a pit of sorrows 24/7
Attempted Suicide – attempting to hang yourself, or take an overdose, etc.
Abuse – Harming someone whom you know in an abusive manner
Excessive Violence – starting or participating in fights for no reason
Here’s a list of things that would get you banned:
Murder – for obvious reasons
Rape – definitely not
Attempted Rape – sensitive nature
Suicide – deletion is easier. Don’t tempt me
Permanent damage to another character(without previous plot discussion with Admin) – mental or physical.
