new to area

Posted by JACK (Members) at Oct 8 2009, 07:34 PM. One comment

I will be training for a new job in the Elyria area for the next 10-12 weeks and being away from family will have a lot of time on my hands. Looking for a good place to throw. Has been a while since I threw regularly so cannot say what level I throw at. How do I find out? Where is a good place for recreational darting around Elyria? What about blind draws (weekdays) which would not be too intimidating for someone just getting back into it? Thanks for any replys.

Great job on the re-organization of the CDC Web Page, Eric Belloma! I know the web page is an on going process, but I wanted to comment on all the hard work you have already put into re-organizing and re-formatting the web page. Keep up the good work! Jane Boyd CDC #21

Cleveland Dart Hall of Fame

Posted by Jeffrey J. Inman, CDC 950050 (BOD) at Aug 31 2009, 06:51 AM. One comment

In honor of our Club’s 40th Anniversary, The Cleveland Dart Hall of Fame was established this past Saturday (August 29, 2009) at The Harbor Inn with the induction of our first 5 Hall of Fame Inductees: Tom Yurcich (CDC #3), Steve Farkas (CDC #1), Ernie Peto (CDC #2), Jim Wolan (CDC #4), and Charlie “Chief” Andracchio (CDC #5). We are all very proud and honored to be able to recognize the great achievements of these 5 individuals who were instrumental in the birth and growth of darts during the early years of The Cleveland Darter Club.

In order to help celebrate this great moment, the First Annual Cleveland Dart Hall of Fame Tournament was held on August 28th and 29th at The Harbor Inn. Please click the attachment below for the complete results of this tournament. We had a tremendous turnout and paid almost $2,000 in prize money! Thanks to everyone who came out to participate in our tournament and help celebrate this great event in The Cleveland Darter Club’s history.

If you haven't had a chance to see our "Wall of Fame" yet, please stop up at The Harbor Inn. It's an impressive sight. Make sure you find Wally and give him a special thanks for all his support for this past weekend's event and the Wall of Fame. Thanks also goes to Joe Gannon (CDC 66) for constructing the display, along with Bill O'Neil (CDC 36) and Jane Boyd (CDC 21) for all of their work in gathering all of the old photos displayed with our digital photo frame. And of course we extend our thanks to our great sponsors, Fraternal Order Orioles, The Harbor Inn, West Park Slovenian Home and Motorcycle Rescue for their generous contribution and support for this great event.

Gary Mawson top seed in PDC

Posted by James J. London, CDC 900278 (Members) at May 29 2009, 04:49 PM. 3 comments

I would personally like to wish GARY MAWSON the Best of luck at the upcoming event in which he is listed as the top seed. It is the PDC North American Open. I am not sure of dates and location but I wish him the best of luck in the event. (Maybe if Jamie, Ruse or Gary reads this could post the dates and times and locations of the event.) Please also post if there is going to be an television coverage of the event locally and how Gary does in the event. It is really neat to see a local darter doing so well on a national and international stage and at such a high skill level in the sport of Darts!!!! See below for links for the web page and brackets.
BEST OF LUCK GARY!!!!!!

FSN & darts

I found on the ADA site http://www.adadarters.com/dartson-tv.html a way to check if your TV provider is airing any Darts. The site doesn't mention that Darts are listed under the catagory "general". Which made it a little difficult to find Cox Cable FSN channel 4 is airing the championship on May 2, 2009 at 6:00pm. http://partnergrid.tvguide.com/PartnerGrid/Grids/closerlook.aspx?Qr=4443983&DT=5/2/2009%2018:00:00%20PM&cl=FSN%2014

It did not or I could not find when AT&t U-verse would be airing using the FSN site but found it using the AT&t search tool on my TV and got Channel 744 FSN May3, 2009 at 7:00pm.

Wow is it sad......

Posted by James J. London, CDC 900278 (Members) at Apr 21 2009, 06:49 AM. 0 comments

It is really sad that the high Archy in charge of this forum and the CDC can not take a few minutes to keep the members apprised of when darts are going to be televised. I saw last Tuesday that World Championship from London, England, that was attended and participated in by The Cleveland Darter Clubs own Gary Mawson, (Beaten By Kevin Painter in the first round) was going to be Televised on Sports Time Ohio several times this week. It is always nice to watch how the big guns of the dart world play the game and when I first started I learned the game by watching players and teams that were better than me. The CDC has one of the top darters in the world in Gary Mawson, and he was shown during the coverage of the event, and it would be great boost for the sport if the powers that be within the BOD would approach STO and see if they can air coverage of Gary and his matches on local TV. I am sure that they probably have tape and could air it if they knew he was local. They might even be interested in having him in an interview that could be spliced into the coverage. Anyway since I had 5 minutes to kill today, I decided to help out the members and let them know of the upcoming coverage of the top Dart Tournament for 2009. Feel free to watch the program and see if you can catch the scoring error during the Match. Anyone who reads this and could find out what if anything could/would/should happen to correct the scoring error? I was really surprised no one caught the error
and I haven't heard anything about it. (Hint: During one of Painters Matches) Anyway the times of airing of the World Championships are below and as the TV guide is updated I will try to update times and dates of future airing of dart events. I hope everyone can catch the programming, it is fun to see how the big guns get it done!!!
Have a Great Day, I am looking forward to a lovely weekend from a weather stand-point!!!!
