After our first week of play in the new format it appears as though there are no more Bronze/Silver/Gold divisions.. fair statement? Team we played claimed to be Silver and we have always been Bronze. Any insight appreciated, Bob |

Bob, I did notice that there is no Bronze/Silver/Gold designation on the schedules at this time. I do not know if that will change in the future. From my observation looking at several schedules from Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, it appears the schedules are **mainly** geography based, so that noone has to drive too far on league night. Within each schedule there are either 2 or 3 divisions of 4 teams. You are only going head-to-head against the teams that have the same number code as you. There is the possibility that the teams in the other number codes are stronger teams. You will only play them once if you are on a 12-team schedule. But you get to play more than just 3 teams and those "bronze" teams that maybe should be moving up to a better division will be "weeded out" and moved up. If you (or your captain) were at the captain's meeting on Sunday, you may recall that the League Director advised that after the first half, teams will be moved around based on how they finish first half. This means the stronger teams on the schedule are put together in the same division for second half. For example, say you get 3rd place in your division for 1st half, after the teams are realligned, most likely the teams that finished 1st & 2nd will be combined with other teams that finished 1st & 2nd, putting you in a division with teams that finished 3rd & 4th, giving you an opportunity in the second half to possibly get 1st or 2nd. I hope this gives you a bit of understanding on why you may play some teams that are better than you and why some other teams may "accuse" your team of being a "Silver" team. In the long run, after first half is done, I believe the teams in each division will be more evenly matched. Your questions/comments/concerns are appreciated. The League Director and the Board of Directors can only "fix" those things that they are aware need "fixing" and they can only explain those things that someone tells them may be confusing. Hang in there while the Club gets through the changes and you'll see a much stronger organization. Good luck to your team. Rose Bill, if I got any of this wrong, please feel free to correct it!!! biggrin Edited by Rose Scott, CDC 2103, Aug 13 2008, 02:13 PM.
