Granted, it's his fault that the whole situation happened due to his jealousy of Maxwell. But he wasn't a very antagonistic character either and did have a good character to his personality. It's just his ideas and jealousy lead him to do something that was evidently the catalyst for the events at hand. Beyond that he just comes across as another guy who more or less screwed up. Also, I am in the crowd who would not like to see Bates as an antagonist because personally I like being able to play this particular anti-hero. If he was an antagonist, I wouldn't really be able to play as him. Not to mention how would you run from yourself considering he is a multiple personality inside of Alyssa? XD
