As the poll asks, what was your favorite death to trigger in Clock Tower ~ The First Fear?

Vote your choice and tell us why if you can.
Personally, I have two favorites:

*Anne crashing through the stained glass skylight
*Mary elctrocuted on the switchboard

I like that particular Anne death because it's very stylistic. Not to mention the idea of being plunged through a stained glass skylight and then impaled upon a pair of giant scissors is just brutal. Not a nice way to go. It reminds me very much of a Dario Argento film in its nature.

I like Mary getting elctrocuted on the switchboard because it's just very satisfying to see her get what's finally coming to her in a very brutal fashion. Her other deaths aren't pleasant either but those both involve falling and once she lands anyhow, she's dead. This way she actually gets to experience the pain she inflicted upon others in tenfold.

So, what are your favorite deaths?

There's two deaths that I love to trigger, both involving Anne:
- Anne crashing through the stained glass skylight.
- Anne drowned in the Pool.

I love both of those deaths of Anne because in comparison to Rolla's deaths, it's very stylish and they're also longer. Rolla get the glorified visual deaths, but Anne gets the more action-packed ones. Also that I can make sense of Anne's deaths in comparison to Rolla's. ^^;;

With Anne falling through the stained glass skylight, it was the perfect "OH MY GOD!" moment, that is when you knew that you are dealing with a psychotic killer here. And with her drowning in the pool, I never knew that Scissor Man was underneath so when he popped out, I was like, "OH CRAP!" Yeah, those two deaths were the best to me. ^^;;

Also with "Laura or Anne pushed through the window", I never recall Rolla being pushed through the window. Only Anne. Am I mistaken?

Sometimes you can trigger Laura (or Rolla, whatever :P ) depending on who you saw die first and look out the window when you hear the scream. I know I triggered it at least once.

Very interesting! I have to check out for myself and see Rolla falling out of that window. If it's anything like me with the window-pool evade that I could never trigger, you know in the Study Room where the bloody curtains was? That you can get Jennifer to climb out of that window! [I could never do that myself! Grr!!]

Then I might beg you to gimme a savestate of that death. ^^;;

I'm gonna have to go with Ann crashing through the stained glass window. More to it than most of the other deaths. But anyone else wondering how the heck she got on the other side of that skylight?

Yeah, it did have more action than the others, in which actualy game the feeling of her being killed. As for an idea on how she got up there, I think I'll take a stab.

After you leave the room, there's the scream and the lights going out and stuff. Given how they can't open the door they originaly entered the house though (assuming), the only possible choice of escape is ether past you, or up the stairs. Of course, there's that breakaway floor which prevents YOU getting ferther, but that in itself is just it. It could of been strong enough for others to of used it in getting upstairs and out of the area during a chase.

From there you really don't have all that far to go, let alone that many places. I mean, you have the elevator you could take to the underground cave, or you could head to the clock tower itself. I guess you could say this is where they split up, two taking the elevator, leaving Ann to fend for herself (due to lack of room). With few places left to run during a chase, Ann is forced to head to the clock tower.

So how does she get outside? That's rather simple, she climbed the ladder to the tower's balcony. Of course, you're thinking "WTF, why corner yourself like that, she's just begging to die!" Well, in a panic situation, one tends not to think and often makes poor choices. One such choice would be looking down while being so high up. Common rule, never look down. Why, because it allowed Scissorman to catch up. Naturaly, or unnaturaly, Ann took her chance and went to jump. Scissorman rushed and both went over the edge. Given the angle and timing, you just happen to be right there when they crash through the skylight.

That somewhat makes sense, as if Anne DOESN'T die, you find her unconscious in the Clock Tower.

But then, how does Laura get to the bathroom after the scream-wouldn't she have had to pass by Jennifer?

Don't do the above

Apologies for the bump, but if you notice, you normally can't take the elevator to the 1st floor due to it being blocked. If we're going by that logic, then who's to say it wasn't blocked for the girls? It's possible (if unlikely) they didn't go to the caves, but rather to the 1st floor.

'Pologize for bumping, but the chase with Mary through the Clock Tower's my favorite scene, and I love knocking her off the ladder; maybe it's not the most gruesome end she could've had, but I like the irony in that it's basically her own fault; if she wasn't so fanatically trying to dislodge Jennifer from the rainy, slippery ladder, she probably could've held on. Then, maybe it's just because it happens during my favorite ending.

You got me. :blink:

But that death scene is my favorite. To me, its more appealing than the others. :P

Yeah, I believe that with Anne's skylight death is when you really think to yourself, "OMFG, THIS GUY IS FOR SERIOUS!" ^^;; It was the best way to start out the game.

I liked it when Mary got pecked by the crows, and when anne came crashing down from the stained glass window.

I've gotta say I like it when Anne is pushed out the window, because then you can have that cool escape scenario when Jennifer jumps into the pool.

The Anne pool death also gets points, because when I first played it I was screaming, "WHY AREN'T YOU HELPING HER, JENNIFER?!"

... A few moments later, I understood why.

Lol, that's what I thought, too. One of those neat scenes where Jennifer's got a better view than we do.

Heh. When I first saw Anne in the pool, I was telling myself, "Damn, Anne can't swim worth beans." Then I was like, "Oh crap... damn, why did Jennifer ran to Anne! You gotta run!!"

I was amazed that it was Scissor Man who down in the pool with her initially because I thought there were piranhas in the pool! ^^;;
