...hell has Corroder gotten the most votes on the newest poll involving the villians?! The guy is a joke. He's such a push over. He's annoying as all hell too. "There she is!" "I found YOU!" "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" "AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! HOT HOT HOT!!!!!! Uuuuuhhhhhhh..." He's not even threatening. Not to mention the spots to evade him ruin his credibility even more. He's no scare... at all. He's just dumb. Not to mention he's annoying as all hell considering he comes after you nearly every second after you've first encountered him. He's like the ex from hell that won't leave you alone and clings to you like a leech. Maybe I'm not seeing what's so special about him. Can someone clue me in because I don't see it. Everyone else in the series was far more scary, intimidating, and creepy than this loser. |

Because for people who can't stand cheesy happy "Everyone is happy" moments, Corroder was the, how you say, "The Money Shot". Before Corroder, Sledgehammer was kind of unimpressive. Sure, there's shock value for killing a kid in the US (in fact, that scene with him and May Norton was part of a clip of violent video games for some committee), but it was kind of just him prancing about like a monkey, smashing some things before actually hitting the girl and then making the brilliant notion that he killed the girl. (Not to mention it looked like the blood on her face was painted with watercolors, but I digress.) After the repetitive boss battle with Sledgehammer and the cheesy reunion scene (not to mention that little Deus Ex Machina with the golden watch appearing out of nowhere), there came the "heart warming" scene with the Rands, at which point, I felt like I was going to get Diabietes from the sweetness of this stuff. Just in the nick of time, Corroder bursts in and says "That's enough! You two make me sick!" and proceeds to give the two a bath of their lifetime. In short, it was just what the game needed in aspects of evil to tide you over until you figured out the main antagonist's goals. Evil isn't about numbers, it's about style and showing that they mean business. You complain that he won't leave you alone after you first meet him, but isn't that the point of a psychotic killer chasing after you, not to give up and go have a brewski during your union break? You say that he is dumber than a sack of bricks, but remember that scene in The First Fear with Bobby in the piano room? Where he sticks his head out and doesn't attack you until you play the piano? Seems kind of "DURRRR" to me, more than Corroder and his weird dancing ways. |

I voted for Corroder, but it was between him, Bobby, and Edward. I think my opinions sucks and I'm not good with debates, but here you go... why I voted for Corroder. Now Corroder wins in the visualization department. He got that whole bloody industrial look to him complete with a gasmask and acid. That totally wins in my book. Also his looks was not only fashion, but function as well. Which I could not say for the rest of the Demon Subordinates such as Chopper's and the Scissor Siblings'. [Only Sledgehammer's made some sense.] Also he totally ruined a perfectly good reunion moments in Clock Tower 3 in the best way possible. You just get a whole array of mixed emotions from seeing the Lands' happy and reunited, to Corroder busting in and completely changing that warm and emotional scenery to something dark and gut-wretching. Especially seeing as how he killed them by stuffing their bodies into empty barrels and washed them off with acid. Especially in a place where Albert makes toys, it gives you some meaning that even the most comforting place isn't the safest. Not only did Corroder just done them in, but he was also sadistic enough to give Albert the same fate as his mother. To walk the plane blind, unable to ever see his mother again as she couldn't see him. Corroder had no remorse, no feelings, no nothing. He was cold, heartless, and quick to finish the job. Also that I liked about him was how he was able to deceive a blind mother and her son; he lied and told them that he was a relative of their's. As he has done probably with several other people, try to act as a relative before robbing them blind [And literally too!] and ending their lives to ensure that they would keep silent. And also a perfect way to ensure that no evidence is left behind. Also I loved it how he met his demise the same way as he done his victims in. Not to mention to be actually based off of John George Haigh is a plus! =3 |

You speak of his actual game story though. I'm talking about his in-game self. In the FMV stuff, he was definitely proving to be quite a force to be trifled with. But then the FMV ended and I got stuck with the missing 4th stooge... Just because he won't leave me alone wasn't meant in a terrifying way either. He was annoying. He was like that person in high school that leeched on to you and would never let you out of their sight no matter how futilely you tried. His in-game persona was nothing like his backstory or his FMV persona. It was a mess! Bobby had one dumb dumb moment you listed. But it wasn't every 2 minutes you have to deal with him going, "I found yoooooooou!!!!!!" "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" and "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!! HOT HOT HOT! UUUUUUUHHHHHHHH..." Bobby could at least stay on his feet and actually terrify or intimidate you outside of an FMV. Corroder provides not even one scare. He has nothing going for him but his backstory and FMVs. Besides, compared to the one thing that can be referred to as "dumb dumb" with Bobby doesn't cover up for Corroder's many screw ups and dumb dumb moments which happen nearly every 30 seconds. I wanted to reach into the damn game and choke the bastard. It felt like they took a rather intimidating assailant and turned him into a joke to appease to some kind of gaming niche. It's like he suddenly became the token comic relief black guy in a horror movie. How am I suppose to like that? How am I suppose to find that scary? How am I suppose to be intimidated when a 15 year old girl was pushing him around easily?! I mean, all you'd have to do is throw something at him and slam a door in his face. THIS is suppose to be scary?! I'm suppose to be scared of someone who fumbles even when trying to chase me?!?! I'm sorry but your reasons for liking him are in his backstory and FMVs and the in-game Corroder and the backstory/FMV Corroder are practically two different people. I don't mean to diss you or your liking of him but I just don't see much reasoning except for his cruel and inhumane FMVs and backstory. That's all he has going for him. It's like this person who has this huge reputation and is very notorious and when you meet them, they're just a hack and a joke. Nothing but this one trick pony. I want someone else's opinion please. I don't feel like hurting Enig's feelings due to my somewhat arrogant behavior on this subject, especially since I know HER reasons long before this topic. Besides, I want to hear from someone else. What makes Corroder so appealing to any of you? |

I voted for Edward, just because he was one of the few killers that actually had some brains. Plus, he was terrifying with all the places he popped up.@.@ |
