What video game company would you prefer HUMAN to give out the rights to the Clock Tower series to? Do you believe that Capcom actually did a great job on it? Or do you believe that if another company took control of the game, they would've done a much better job? I have listed down a bunch of active companies alongside what recognizable horror games that they have made, so you can compare. [This poll does not have companies that went out of business such as HUMAN (They also done S.O.S.), WARP (They done the D series), and etc.] Now let's see everyone's opinions on the matter of what company would've done Clock Tower 3 much justice! Don't forget to mention why you feel this way! |

I really feel like I have to justify what I picked, because I have a feeling I'll be one of the only people (if not THE only person) who thinks Atari would be a good choice, should CT get drop-kicked to another company. I'm a Transformers fan. Atari made a Transformers game called "Prelude to Energon" and it was per-fect (it even got good reviews from non-Transfans who just wanted a solid mech game). Even though it's not horror, it is a game based on pre-existing characters and plots, and Atari did a great job of both preserving what was important (ie, Megatron's got a noble streak) and putting enough of a new spin on it that it didn't feel like "more of the same" (ie, Decepticlones). It also has solid, accessable gameplay. As for why I didn't pick a more obvious company... I love Fatal Frame dearly. But FF3 had some hide-and-seek sequences, and they weren't all that hot. If Tecmo could beef them up, they'd be a shoo-in, but otherwise... Silicon Knights and Konami could probably both put out an excellent game, but I'm not sure they could (or would even try to) capture the established "tone" of Clock Tower instead of doing their own thing. We need someone who'll put themselves on hold and basically make HUMAN's game, and I don't see either of those companies doing it. |

I'd go with SCEI because after looking at RoR and Siren, Im curious to see what they could do with CT. |

I would have to go with From Software because they seem to make some unique horror titles and I think would continue Clock Tower in the traditional style while added a couple innovations for it to be playable for the PS2. Plus, their games tend to have a genuinely creepy atmosphere to them which would definitely lend itself nicely to an entry to Clock Tower. The only possible problem From Software would present is that sometimes their translations are a little off. But besides that, I think From Software would have been a nice one to pass the torch off to. |

Given that Fatal Frame is still the only game I'm too scared to complete, I've gotta say TECMO. Their games just seem so... isolated... and personal... and CREEPY. |

i think silicon knights could absolutly nail it!! Playing eternal darkness and the metal gear solid remake! i was amazed by there incredible games for the gamecube! clock tower 3 was good but really missing the clock tower esque horror feeling... I liked escaping scissorman and that you didn't have to go into a laborsome boss fight in such. It made it more of a action/horror and not sticking to what made the series a pants wetter. a nice try but silicon knights i think could handle it. All the other companys i dunno. Tecmo: Fatal frame is good but to atmospheric for clock tower not enough head on stuff(even though there was a amazing scare in fatal frame with a decapitated head). Scei: its had more misses than hits and it would proabbly make a beautiful clock tower game but proabbly not the best one. if the guys behind shadow of the collosus or ico i would consider it deeply. Atari: i dunno... Grasshopper: uh yeah... no. it would proabbly be very interesting but nothing close to scary... killer 7 was wacko smacko art extraveganza! but not reatively a very good game Some other interesting ones would be Rockstar or maybe even squaresoft but usually squaresoft games outside rpgs stink... Maybe atlus! The fantastic shin megaimi tensei series was amazing and if atlus did pull it off i would buy it. but i dunno theres so many other companies as well. ~km |

Hmmmm.. I think Capcom did a fairly good job with CT3. I mean they could have done far worse and just made it awful (I can name a few of their games but I wont...) but I think Konami, Midway Games, Tecmo would have did really good jobs too. However in a way I don't think that Konami would have been able to capture the feeling of Clock Tower and would of make it way too much like Silent Hill (that's just my thoughts, nothing against Konami) I would be scared they'd try and change the atmosphere of the game a bit but that's just me being paranoid (and I'm paranoid of everything just so you know!) I think it would be great if they had made CT3 but I still think they'd try and make it look a bit more like their more successful horror game SH. Midway Games, I instantly think of Mortal Kombat. The gore and the interesting deaths in it. I could see them doing blood shed and interesting tortures or deaths but I don't think they'd be able to do too well with say the games need to hide and puzzles (compared with some of their games). They'd be a good choice none the less in my book. And Tecmo, I kinda don't like most of their games for some reason but I admit they do a good job here and there. I think they might have done a nice job with it. I'm a fan of Fatal Frame and I always think about to CL3 when ever I play it. They made the atmosphere of spooky and eerie and their games really would scare you. If they had used that type of skill if they had made CT3 I think they would have done a awesome job with it. Still keep it's Clock Tower feel while at the same time making it far more scary. Then again that's my thoughts *shrugs* But no matter which company made it, I would still worry about them doing their own thing and going away from feeling Clock Tower gives off. |

I'm quite happy with how Capcom made Clock Tower 3, to tell the truth. I can't really see anyone else making a Clock Tower game. (Then again, I have yet to play many of the survival horror video games listed in the poll, so I guess I can't exactly tell at the moment!) |

I choose Atari, because they made the Alone in the Dark games. They are so creepy, and I think that they would make a great CT4 if they got the rights for it. The old Alone in the Dark games had a really creepy tone to them. If they can create that tone again in a very hot pursuit by a mad scissorkiller, then it would be great :D |

Is it bad that I'm still stuck on thinking about which company would've done a better job at Clock Tower? ^^;; I agree that I loved how Capcom did with it, even though it's wasn't as up to par as what Human would've done with it. It still had it's charm, but my personal opinions. I know that I wouldn't let Konami take care of it, we don't need a Silent Hill ripoff casted with minors. ^^;; Grasshopper Manufacture may go a bit too over the edge with Clock Tower, they might make it a bit too cheeky and cheesy for my liking. Midway Games is just no. Enterbrain and Silicon Knights I'm not too convinced on. Atari seems really good in the choice, but I haven't played any of their recent titles. [I only remember the first game where that scary beast jumps out of the window! : o : ] SCEI is okay, but I'm afraid that they might make it too clunky if it's anything like my last playthroughs with Rule of Rose and Siren. Tecmo is nice, but I just don't feel it's right. So out of my choices, I think that From Software would be the best choice if Capcom didn't have the rights! Playing Kuon felt right with me, it made me believe that they could've done a better job at making a 3D Clock Tower world. Not to mention Kuon rocked because Rebecca Wink and Roger Jackson did the voice acting in it, and they are the voices of Alyssa Hale and Bates! >V< |
