It was way back in germany when i lived on a army base barracks! My neighbor had two duaghters i baby sat and she had a playstation on the side. Playstation was still amazing to me and horror movies i was starting to really get into! Back then there was no sign of a survival/horror game except for resident evil but that wasn't exactly screamingly scary. So one day after she came home from work to reward me from babysitting her kids she let me borrow a game from her collection. Her collection was admiring but nothing new really. Yet i found a strange creepy looking game. With a threating looking man holding a large pair of scissors. It was clock tower and little did i know what i was getting into. I borrowed it of course without even looking at the back! I invited a friend over and we turned off the lights. We sat in the dark and started playing. Strange how things change as back then the graphics were amazing to my eyes and the voice acting was A-List. I was instantly drawn into it but nothing really happened until we hit Helens scenario 1! It was when helen answers the door and Baker falls over dead. omfg. I had never been so scared from a video game i had to turn it off! There was really one other time which was Silent Hill 2 when pyramid head first appears!! At first i thought there was no f-ing way i was going to play it again but i managed to get some courage and continue on! I beat it with jennifer but never got to beat it again! until... Some years later I revisited the series when i found a copy of it floating around a gamestop store. I soon fell in love with it yet again! Even so much as to looking online into the ultimate clock tower fan site where then i found out about clock tower first fear! Sadly, i haven't still been able to play very long or even beat first fear as i want to grab a physical copy and not a rom!(even though i love roms). I was extremly excited then for clock tower 3~ Which was an admirable solid sequel but nothing compared to the original... I also haven't gotten a chance to grab Clock Tower 2: Struggle within!!! But still... I love the clock tower series. Its the scariest game I have ever played and still proabbly will be! but we can now still wait for clock tower 4 or the movie!!! hopefully, scissorman will return to put the fear back into videogames that have been missing nowadays! ~km |

Have any of you guys heard about the show X-play? Well, during the October of last year, there was an episode that had a list of the "Scariest Games of All Time", and Clock Tower (USA) was #8 on the list. The moment I saw it, I was like, "MUST. PLAY. THIS." A few days later, I looked up Clock Tower on Wikipedia, and found out all about the fist game. Later that day, I was able to download the ROM for Clock Tower (The First Fear), and the rest was history. |

Yeah I saw that...and I was very surprised. I almost fell out of my chair when Adam Sessler said that this game was a jem. He actually praised a game that I like? Thats new. 0_o At least it got more people to acknowledge the game, like Lime here. :D This goes back to when I was 10 years old. I found out about Clock Tower 2 (Clock Tower in America) after looking at a preview of it in a Tips and Tricks magazine (I had a subscription). I waited until it was finally released and then I went up to Best Buy to get it. I brought it home, played it, loved the game ever since. I think this October will be my 10 year anniversary. Oh happy days. |

I'd read a feature in Diehard Gamefan when I was a moppet that perked my interest in Clock Tower USA... but to my eternal shame, I could only pick one game and I passed it up for some big-name sure-bet. Then TSW came, and no stores in my area would carry it. Finally, when I found a copy of Clock Tower 3, I was like, "I am playing this one, [censored]!" So I bought it, loved it, hunted down the rest of the series. |

I stopped by vgmuseum.com and the news for the day was that the Clock Tower endings were up. I was intrigued, and looked in. Looked cool, so I decided to find out what it was all about. ASDF god it was creepy when I found Laura in the shower. |

When I was little and the Playstation was fairly new I used to read lots of game magazines. When Clock Tower USA came out I was interested in it and I went out and bought it. Now I was fairly young when I got it but I've always loved being scared or spooked so that's one reason I purchased it on it's release date. First horror game that I would NOT play if the lights are off. However, now I can play it in the dark alot on my PS2 but normally when my friends are near by. I will still get startled and scared but not as bad as when I was a wee fellow. After I got the playstation one I didn't really show much interest in Clock Tower 2 so I kinda skipped it. Clock Tower 3 came out and it really hit my interest so like Clock Tower USA, I got it the first day of it's release. I was just as hyped up over it. Sadly it was like last year I was able to get a ROM of First Fear in Japanese (I can only read a little if I'm lucky but I still didn't know enough Japanese to understand alot of the game) only a few months back when I got a new laptop did I have to get the game again downloaded and I was lucky to find a English patch for it. When I played the Japanese text version I was frightened alot but when I was able to read what was going on the story just forced me to stay hooked to it, despite getting too scared at certain times. Even though I've been lucky enough to get all the endings (I worked hard for 'em too!) I still enjoy playing it and CTUSA. Nice replay value. Everyones got a some nice little storys to tell it seems here. |

I was looking up some game on google images, and one of the results was a page containing reviews of horror games. Clock Tower got a great score, so I looked it up on google and found the Rom. |

Virtual Energies from the GF board posted on the RPG Maker 2000 messageboard on GF, and in his sig, it mentioned a game for the SNES called Clock Tower. It caught my interest, and I spent some time tracking down the rom and patch, and then played it late at night for the first time. Ah, that was a good time. |

I was randomly in Game Stop a few months ago and saw Clock Tower 3, I had heard of the Clock Tower franchise before, so I figured I'd buy it and then after playing I became obsessed. I haven't played the very first game though.=( |

I already typed this up, so I'll just copy-paste this from my fan site with some editing to the main points: My obsession with Clock Tower started after I downloaded the ROM for the Super FamiCom version. I was visiting Aeon Genesis' website because I have downloaded their previous patches for titles such as Monstania, Live-A-Live, and Diable De Laplace. I enjoyed their work so I decided to try out this game they've completed called Clock Tower - The First Fear. What attracted me to download the game was their description, "You play as Jennifer Simpson, fleeing from the insane psycho killer Bobby Barrows..." Along with the screenshots, I was like, "Wow, this game looks really well made! I'll give it a shot!" I've never heard of the Clock Tower series, so I decided to give this one a shot because I love Horror Adventure games. Too bad I have to use 3 Walkthroughs to finish the game though. |

My brother downloaded the SFC Rom with the translation patch, and he sold it to me (YES, MY OWN BROTHER SOLD ME A ROM, WHAT A rekcufrehtoM <-- XD ). I quickly became addicted to it, and after some time managed to buy pirate copies of the other PSX games (in south america sony doesn't sell games/consoles officially, so it was the only way I could get them :P). Later when I went to USA I got Clock Tower 3 (this time an official copy). |

I had decided I was in need of a new game and planned to buy Fatal Frame but I couldn't find it anywhere so ended up with RE: CVX. I was still determined to find Fatal Frame though so went to the local game shop in the town I live in. I still couldn't find Fatal Frame but saw Clock Tower 3. Remembering someone had also recommended me that I decided to buy that. And just so you know, I did eventually find Fatal Frame. It's Project Zero across here. <_< |

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh.... I.... I-I don't really... remember... :( I THINK I saw it on the Internet somewhere.... I was ether looking up random ROMs, or saw it as a cameo/parody/reference somewhere. After that, I forgot about it for... A year or two. Than X-Play reminds me, I look it up and say "Hey! I know this!" Than I looked up all the Clock Tower I could... than I got the games! |
Thank "Yu" Kaze!![]() ![]() I'll get my RAEP on you. | |
