Here are the rules and guidelines for my forum! I hope you have fun visiting my forum and make a lot of friends here! =D 08/18/08 - UPDATES: - Added Table of Contents. - Made Awards & Badges into their own post, sorry for the bump in the topic! ^^;; - Changed Fushigi Rockna to Fushimi since she opted for a name change. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [AVATAR SIZE LIMITS] - Avatars should be no bigger than 150 x 150. Posted Image [SIGNATURE SIZE LIMITS] - Signatures should be no bigger than 600 x 300, this applies to both images and text. Also try to keep your signatures 1 MB large at best, therefore I don't allow any huge animations or flash movies. If your signature is over the limit, please put it behind a Spoiler tag and place the rest of your banners, text, and images behind it. That way it doesn't interfere with the board, yet people can always click on your signature to read it. Any signature in violation will be placed in a Spoilers tag without warning. Posted Image [WARNINGS ARE "THREE STRIKES, YOU'RE OUT!"] - This forum follows a "three strikes and you're out" when it comes to warnings. If the Mods or I see anyone violating the rules and guidelines, we will issue you a verbal warning. If we see you continuing your behavior, we will give you your first physical strike because you've failed to listen to the verbal warning. Once you've reached the second strike, we will be keeping a close watch over you. And anyone with three strikes are considered suspended or banned from my forum, depending on the severity. [DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS OR BOTS!] - If you see any posts by trolls or bots. It's just best to click on the REPORT button, and let the Mods or I know about it. We much rather prefer that you report them to us, than you fueling fire by replying to their posts. [RESPECT THE MEMBERS HERE] - I do not tolerate any discrimination, insults, or mistreating of the members of this forum. Treat them as how you expect to be treated and everyone here has the right to voice their own personal opinion. While it's possible that some may disagree with your views, but that does not give you the right to personally attack them. If you wish to continue your debates, do so by PMs or e-mails. [NO INAPPROPRIATE POSTING] - I don't mind the use of vulgar language every now and then, but please refrain from any excessive use of profanity. Refrain from posting one liners such as "cool" or "lol", make your posts have some substance. Don't spam all of my topics. Try to not double post. Don't cross-post such as making two of the exact same topics in two different boards. Refrain from going off-topic in your discussions such as a topic about a movie suddenly changes into a thread about soundtracks. Try to not create topics in the wrong sections such as talk about video games in the "Granite Orphanage" introduction section, instead of the "Oslo Weekly" fandom section. Also avoid sparking controversial topics that deals with religion, politics, wars, and sex because they only lead to insults and flames. I don't mind a honest mistake, but don't let the Mods and I have to constantly fix your posts. I also may lock/delete topics with no warning. [NO ASKING OR POSTING ILLEGAL MATERIALS] - Do not ask, post, link, advertise, or upload illegal files such as warez, cracks, serials, keygens, and piracy. This also applies to posting extreme stuff such as adult images, pornography, materials depicting sex, videos, extreme violent contents, and other related materials. This rule also applies for every ROMs and MP3s, even those from the Clock Tower series, they are not welcomed in my forums. [PLEASE MARK YOUR SPOILERS] - Don't assume that everyone here has already played all of the Clock Tower games. So if you're about to give something away, I recommend that you mark your spoilers in the thread or in a link. This not only applies for the "Clock Tower Series" section, but the other sections as well including "Barton's Therapy Room" and the "Scissors Hospital". Let's be courteous to our fellow members, I don't want to ruin the experience for anyone. Remember that we do have Spoilers tag for you to use. [WARNING ABOUT ADVERTISEMENTS] - If you feel the need to promote something, please don't spam my forums and advertise at the "Oslo Weekly" section where they are most welcomed! I would much rather have a consistent discussion stick to one topic, rather than making five recent topics talking about the same thing. Q: WHEN CAN DOUBLE-POSTING BE ACCEPTABLE? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: The only time where double-posting is acceptable if at least 1 hour or 24 hours have passed since your previous post. Any double-posting made within minutes of each other are not allowed at all, therefore I will edit them to make them as one post altogether. Q: AM I ALLOWED TO "BUMP" TOPICS? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: Bumping topics are allowed only if you have something constructive to add to the discussion. Please don't bump topics with a useless reply such as "bump" or "I agree". Also you can bump your topic in the "Oslo Weekly" section, where you promote your links, once every month. Q: HOW LONG CAN A DISCUSSION GO OFF-TOPIC BEFORE THE MODS INTERVENE? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: I am not that strict about off-topic conversations, and I will allow discussions to go off-topic every now and then. But once the discussion has trailed too off far from the original subject is when the Mods or myself would start to intervene. Usually we split the topic rather than deleting the off-topic comments altogether. Q: HOW MANY WORDS ARE PREFERRED FOR A DEFAULT POST? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: There is really no limit to how many words are preferred in a default post. As long as they are coherent. ^^;; Q: IS IT OKAY FOR ME TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: I don't mind it every now and then, because we do use caps to make a point or to show how happy/enraged/excited we are. But please refrain from constantly posting in ALL CAPS because it looks annoying and it seems like you're yelling at us. Q: DO WE GET INTO TROUBLE IF WE CONSTANTLY POST ONE-LINERS? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: While I am not forcing anyone to make a novel out of their posts, but at least prefer them to be one sentence long. I will allow one-liners such as "LOL", "yeah", and "ok" every now and then. But if I see that about 80% of your posts are consisted of one-liners is when the Mods or myself will step in, and issue a first strike warning. Q: MAY I USE VULGAR LANGUAGE IN MY TOPIC TITLE? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: I prefer if you refrain from using vulgar language in your topic title because I am considerate for those who may view this forum at their workplace or in a public environment where it may not be acceptable. If you want to use vulgar language in your topic title, please include asterisks to bleep it out such as "fck", "fk", "f", "", or etc. Now using vulgar language inside the topic of discussion, I have absolutely no problem with! Q: WHY DID A TOPIC GOT BUMPED WHEN THERE ARE NO NEW REPLIES? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: This only happens when it comes to polls. If someone has voted in a poll, regardless whether or not they posted a comment, it would automatically be bump to the top of the page. Q: CAN I POST LINKS TO A CLOCK TOWER SITE THAT MAY BE A RIVAL TO "DON'T CRY JENNIFER"? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: Sure, I do not mind at all! Feel free to link to whatever you may think as a "rival Clock Tower site" because I love to share traffic to everybody who owns anything that has to do with the series in general. I see that having rivals are pointless, especially since we're in such a small fandom; why can't we all just get along? ^^;; Q: WHAT CONSTITUTES AS PRIVATE MESSAGE (PM) ABUSE? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: I allow PMs (private messaging) on this forum so that members can either have private conversations with one another, report any member harassment to the Mods or Admin, or for whatever reason they see fit. PMs, however, are not to be used for advertisement purposes or to spam someone's PM Inbox. If you are caught spamming members via PMs, you will be issued a verbal warning first. Repeated offenders will be issued a physical strike and so forth. Q: HOW DO I DELETE PRIVATE MESSAGES (PMs)? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: Unfortunately, ZetaBoards disabled the option to delete PMs due to customer requests. If you want to "delete" a PM, simply check the box on the PM you want to delete and click on the button "Archive". This sends it to the "Archive" folder which you can think of it as a Trash Can. Q: I HAVE A VIDEO I MADE OF CLOCK TOWER FOR THE SFC, DO I PUT IT UNDER THE "CLOCK TOWER (~THE FIRST FEAR~)" SECTION OR UNDER "THEATER" IN THE "COLLECTION ROOM"? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: I am not picky where certain topics go, especially if it's one where it can fit in a variety of sections. So you can put your gameplay videos in their specific Clock Tower section or put it in the "Theater" section of the "Collection Room" board, I really don't mind. Q: I LIKE TO LURK THESE FORUMS, ARE YOU GOING TO FORCE ME TO POST? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: Heavens no! If you want to lurk these forums, that is fine by me. We're not gonna force you to post or do activities on your forum, I just appreciate the fact that you still come to these forums to view our posts on your time! Q: AM I ALLOW TO MAKE POSTS ABOUT MURDERS OR CASES WITH GRAPHIC VIOLENCE? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: Sure, but do note this forum also has minors as members. And it would be greatly appreciated if you put a warning in the topic title if the content inside is graphic. While I do not mind talking about them, just be courteous of the other members who might be sensitive to these issues. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [WARNINGS & BANS:] Q: IF I WAS TEMPORARILY BANNED FROM THE FORUM, HOW LONG AM I BANNED? Spoiler: click to toggle - A: If anyone is temporarily banned, they will be restricted from posting in the forum for 7 days. Continued offenses would result them being banned from the forum for 30 days. And repeated offenders would result in a permanent ban. Q: HOW MUCH TROUBLE WOULD I BE IN IF WERE TO FEED BOTS OR TROLLS? Also reputation points would only be abused by those who will try to smite members who honestly earned their points. Basically it would boil down to a war between members as to who is more reputable than others, which I don't want seen happening.
