If you really want to get some of our members to believe you, you may want to provide some sort of evidence, such as a screen shot. That way, we'll know for sure that we may be getting a new Clock Tower game in the future. :3 By the way, was the e-mail originally in English, or did you have to use a translator to translate it from Japanese to English? |

Anyone who wants a screenshot that shows that I'm not making this up can PM me for it (or ask me through MSN) and I'll happily give the screenshot. You may ask "why don't you put the screenshot in the forum, so that everyone can see it?", well, the answer is easy, I want to know who believes my words and who doesn't. I won't bite, I simply want to know that. And just for the record, I don't get anything by you believing me or not. If someone doesn't want to believe me, its their own problem. In fact I'm not sure why should I give a screenshot to show that what I'm saying is true, but whatever, I'll do it. PS: His email was in english since the first thing I said in my email was that I didn't know japanese, and for that reason would write the mail in english. |

Wow, Mr. Hifumi Kôno actually wrote to you, Ikary, that is amazing and awesome! >V< Currently, I am working on a new horror game that will be the sequel to the ClockTower story. I do hope he keeps his word about it, especially when this article dated April 16th, 2007: "Lastly, [Hifumi] Kono briefly hinted about his current project slated for a spring 2008 release involving mechs, but did not elaborate for which console it is being developed on." I hope that what he said about working on a sequel =/= new mecha Clock Tower game. >V< If anyone doesn't know what I'm saying, Mr. Kôno also worked on Steel Battalion, which is developed and published by Capcom. You can also see his name listed in the SNAKE vs. ZOMBIE website of Grasshopper Manufacture to prove that he was indeed part of the event as stated in the article. It's great if you two both keep in contact with each other, Ikary. I remember talking with Ben Judd of Capcom, who does the localization for Clock Tower 3, via e-mails and I think we sent probably three e-mails back-and-forth before he stopped replying. So any information is good information out of him, it's good to know that he still remember the series and knows that there are fans of Clock Tower from all over the world!! Now that got me curious, if the Director of the Clock Tower series is indeed involved with Capcom. Then he must have some say with they were making of Clock Tower 3, wouldn't he? Maybe we'll get an announcement from the upcoming Tokyo Game Show? I agree with you, Brad. I wish there will be any news about it when the Tôkyô Game Show comes around! <3 |

Wow. I just received another reply from him. I can't believe that he actually replied... I mean, my last email was a month ago... Anyway, I don't want people to think I'm making this up, so instead of quoting his response here I'm going to send a snapshot of the email (or something like that) to the people I have on IM (Retro, Enig, Lime, KazeTaco, etc...). Any other member interested in it may ask me for it too. What he answers here (in this email) are mainly two questions about the next game. |

More than two weeks ago, I did try to email Hifumi Kouno myself after reading this topic as a lurking guest. To my surprise, he just replied today! I asked him plot-related questions about the Clock Tower games, so there's going to be spoilers. You can check out the pictures attached. Some of the plot details confirmed are really interesting! What's interesting to note is that Hifumi Kouno spells Kay as Kei and Burroughs as Burrows. Warning: SPOILERS! Posted Image Posted ImagePosted Image Plot Details in Reply: 1. Mary had been sacrificing kids to Bobby and Dan similarily to how she tried to sacrifice Jennifer and her friends. 2. The police search found out that there were much more than just ten victims in Mary, Bobby, and Dan's mass murder, even counting the organs and mummy in the trophy room. 3. The hand that rises in Helen's Ending B in Clock Tower (2 in Japan) is supposed to be open to interpretation. 4. Bobby and Dan couldn't live outside the Clock Tower mansion, where time (maybe the Clock Tower) was "stopped" for them in order to be immortal (maybe explaining the "Time causes adherence" line in Clock Tower for SFC and why the Clock Tower gears kill Bobby). Along with being fed orphans, this was why Dan grew so large. 5. After Walter disappeared, Jennifer's mom dated and married another man and gave up custody of Jennifer. 6. After watching Mary and her brother(!) getting interested in dark magic and deciding to murder kids as sacrifices, Simon attempts to murder her, but he was "counterattacked" by Mary and locked in the courtyard shed jail. He was let to live because Mary was entertained to see Simon break down and go insane. 7. Kay had some sort of secret pedophilia-feelings for Edward, but she was able to repress these feelings. Using demonic powers, he sensed this and used his "beautiful face" to fulfill her desires. Kay becomes inseparable from Edward and becomes willing to assist him in Jennifer's Ending C. |

I haven't gotten a reply yet, but here's what I sent: To Mr. Hifumi Kouno, First, I want to thank you for taking the time to respond to so many e-mails from Clock Tower fans. I actually found out about Nude Maker from someone who sent an e-mail to you, so thank you very much! I'm so happy to hear that the Clock Tower series might be ressurected. I'm definately going to spread the word about Nude Maker to other friends of mine, they'll be very excited. I live over in the United States, and therefore I do not have much knowledge of the Japanese language, and for this I apologize. However, one of my friends was able to translate a little bit of the Clock Tower 2 Adventure Novels, and I was wondering if you had anything to do with those? Another question of mine is, in those novels it is said that Dan / Edward loves Jennifer and refers to her as his big sister. In fact, it even goes as far as to say that he considered Bobby a 'failure' due to his deformed body, and wants Jennifer to be his older sister? Another thing is translation. A few fans get into debates sometimes at the proper spellings of the First Fear characters names. The biggest one would be Rolla or Laura, Jennifer's blonde friend who can die in the shower. Another one would be the Barrows / Burroughs family. How do you personally think these names should be spelled in English or said? Also, about Jennifer's heritage. The Adventure Novels say that Jennifer is a Barrows/Burroughs, that her mother was in the Barrows/Burroughs family. Is there any truth to this? And the last one is about Nolan and Jennifer. Do you have any idea what happens to the two of them after Clock Tower 2's A Ending? Do they start a relationship? Thank you so much, again, for taking the time to answer my questions and the questions of other Clock Tower fans.
