DOLPHINATSU WILL KILL U!

Okay, this is my first time playing Clock Tower for Windows 95! As requested by Goldie ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [CLOCK TOWER FOR WINDOWS 95 DIFFERENCES] [OPENING:] - The opening movie when you start the game is a FMV of Jennifer and the Scissor Man, as shown in mrbates' post. Since mrbates' movie had no sound in it, I will describe it for you. There is absolutely no sound effects and the only background music playing is officially titled "Dan's Theme" [Which most places dub this song as "Don't Cry, Jennifer".]. - The opening with the clock striking 12 is the exact same. Except the font for the title "CLOCK TOWER" is much larger, more white, and has no shading. - Instead of pressing the start button to access the menu, the menu is on the top bar of the game in which you can select the options: Game Start, Quick Start, Continue, Ending List, and Sound > Stereo > Monaural > None . - Clicking on any of the options in the menu does not have the "door shutting" sound effect anymore. [OPENING DEMO:] - For the opening of the game, the SFC version has the text displayed all of it at once. The Win95 version now does a scrolling effect with the text as it displays. - In the SFC version, the music "Opening Demo" ["Dark Premonition"] cuts right after the text "It happened in September..." disappeared. The Win95 version now has it cut before it states "It happened in September...". - The sound effects of the birds titled "Bird" ["Safe... For Now"] sounds more like a jungle full of birds calling instead of the SFC version where it's a bit more quiet. - The Win95 version of the overview image of Ms. Mary and the girls is the same size as the SFC version, except the resolution has been doubled. Also the SFC version gave Anne brown hair, but the Win95 version gave her meadow green hair, so it blends with the trees. And the SFC version has Rolla displayed as 1 pixel wide with one gray pixel, but the Win95 version now made her 2 pixels wide. - The footsteps of Ms. Mary and the girls are a lot more audible and clear than in the SFC version. - The Win95 version of the image of Ms. Mary and the girls with Lotte calling out how slow Rolla is have shorten Anne's legs and Lotte's shoulder, whereelse they are displayed as full size in the SFC version. - The Win95 version of Jennifer questioning Ms. Mary is just the same size as the SFC version, except the resolution has been doubled. Also the Win95 version made Jennifer's pupils more white, her mouth more detailed, and changed the size of her lobe, so they are now more noticable. - In the SFC version, Jennifer asking Mary questions has the text displayed on the same screen. But the Win95 version has the conversation between the both of them displayed as one sentence at a time. So it looks more like a conversation. - The Win95 version of Mary pointing out the Burroughs' House is just the same size as the SFC version, except the resolution has been doubled. Also Mary's forehead is more noticable in the Win95 version than in the SFC version. [GAME START:] - WEIRD CHANGE! The SFC version had Rolla saying, "What a huge place..." And Anne agreeing with, "Yeah! The main hall's gigantic!" Now the Win95 version had Anne saying, "What a huge place..." And Rolla agree with her, "Yeah! The main hall's gigantic!" - Another weird change. The SFC had Lotte commented, "I doubt I'll ever get used to this place." And then Anne teased, "Heh, Lotte's paranoid." Now the Win95 version had Rolla teasing Lotte instead of Anne. - The SFC version had it when Lotte asked her best friend, "Should I go find Ms. Mary?" And Jennifer replied, "No, I'll go look for her." The song "Theme" ["I'm Looking For Mary"] would start playing. But the Win95 version has no music playing at all, therefore it's all silent. - In the SFC version, when Jennifer enters Corridor 1, she just stands there at the door to the Rubble Room 1 and you have to wait a bit before the game triggers her friends screaming. But in the Win95 version, Jennifer continues to walk near the window before she hears her friends scream. [H ENDING - ANNE'S SKYLIGHT DEATH:] - When you enter the Living Room and when the TV suddenly turns on, the SFC version has it where you just hear static from the TV. The Win95 version now has a weird howl that plays when the TV comes on as you hear the static. - No bleeding picture this time, ah well... - Remember that when you're at the Collection Room and when you knock over the jar with the organ inside, it will play the song "Shock Scene" ["Dead End"]. The Win95 version would have "Shock Scene" playing when Jennifer looks at Bobby's and Dan's baby photo in the Bedroom. The SFC version has it completely silent. - In the SFC version, the parrot is still in its cage. But in the Win95 version, it is moving around in its cage. - Whenever you pick up an inventory, they are sent to a separate menu in the SFC version. The Win95 version has all of your inventory displayed on the bottom screen below Jennifer's portrait. So you can click on it and use them whenever. - In the SFC version, when the arm in the mirror strangles Jennifer, she will scream. In the Win95 version, Jennifer doesn't scream. Also in the SFC version, after Jennifer successfully panics from the strangling arm, it will push her making her fall on her bottom and then she will get up and start coughing. The SFC version has Jennifer's head looking forward when she is coughing, but the Win95 version has her head lowered instead. - In the Bedroom, when Jennifer releases the parrot. The PS version would have a visual of the parrot up-close. This is not present in the Win95 version. - In the Bedroom, when Jennifer frees the parrot and it starts attacking her. The Win95 version has Jennifer letting out a tiny whelp as the parrot claws at her. In the SFC version, she says nothing. Also Jennifer will quickly smothers the parrot in the Win95 version with almost no struggle. Whereelse in the SFC version, she struggles with the parrot for a bit before smothering him. - AWW! In the SFC version, you could do a trick where you can evade Scissor Man by quickly clicking on the stairway in the Reception Hall 1. But in the Win95 version, this glitch is fixed and you can no more run to the stairway without him killing you. D= Okay, so I gotta run away! - I used the East Wing Shower Room to escape from the Scissor Man. In the SFC version, you have to make Jennifer open the other door in order for her to lock it. But in the Win95 version, she automatically enters the room and locks the door. And also when the Scissor Man leaves for good, in the SFC version, Jennifer would just stand there in the closed room until you tell her to unlock the door. But in the Win95 version, she will unlock herself knowing that it's safe. Smart girl. - In the SFC version, it takes Jennifer a while for her to start up the car before she starts ramming through the garage door. But in the Win95 version, she starts it up right away and drives through the garage door. - In the SFC version, the staff roll is written completely in English. [Yes in a Japanese game, the credits are written in English!] But in the Win95 version, the credit roll is written completely in Japanese. - For the H Ending in the SFC version, you can still hear the car running as Jennifer is driving it and when Jennifer sees the scissors in her rear-view mirror, she screams and the screen turns black. But in the Win95 version, you do not hear the car running at all, it's completely silent. And when Jennifer sees the scissors in her rear-view mirror, she doesn't scream at all. But when the screen turns black, you will hear the snipping of the scissors and a very short scream coming out of Jennifer [which might suggest that the Scissor Man chopped off her head]. Then we finally see the words "DEAD END" and we obtained the H Ending. [MORE TO COME: Trying to get the G Ending with Rolla's shower death and Lotte shot in the Courtyard!] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Be sure to keep an eye out on the top page for more changes! =D |

Another difference, The Zombie does not wake up but you do see it without using the "cheat" like the one in the SFC version. |

Because I am terribly lazy and that I have some life issues going on, I will say that I will do it soon. But I cannot make any guarantees, but if anyone likes to finish off where I started. Be my guest! =D |
