Is TFF "Teen" or "Mature"?

If for some reason, Capcom and Nude Maker decide to port TFF to some console or handheld, or if they decide to put it up on the Virtual Console (any of the regions), what ESRB rating would the game approximate to?

I personally think that TFF would best go into Teen. While there are satanic themes, disturbing images and plot, some violent deaths (Ann's foyer death, Laura's shower death), and a sadistic stalker - Bobby - there's not a lot of gore and blood, especially when compared to the sequel. The only blood there is would be the bleeding painting in the TV room, Ending F, the bloody sink haunting, the crow room, the crow in the ritual room, the meat locker, the beating heart...I believe that's all the blood and gore in the game.

It's pretty minimal IMHO when compared to the sequel - there's Rose's deaths, Professor Sullivan and the university guards' decapitations, Rick's deaths, Beth and Tim's barrel deaths...to me, they are much more violent and bloody than the blood and gore of TFF's.

I'd guess mature. Most of the stuff is tame compared to the sequel, but there's enough questionable content to where it probably deserves an M rating.

I have to agree with a "Teen" rating. TFF's definitely not as violent or bloody as other survival horror games out there, and, well, it isn't really "Mature" rated material, in my opinion.

I see it getting a "Teen" rating. Like with what Lime said, when you compare it to other M-rated Horror titles, it's pretty tame.

I dunno, I just can't see a game about 14 year olds getting scissored to death getting anything less than an M, lol - but I guess ya never know...

Nakanaide...

I say "M", as well.

As the content is tame, a game about kids getting killed is definitely going to send the ESRB up in arms, and with the animal cruelty (dead crows), satanic themes, and whatnot...that's not going to fly into just being a 'teen' rated game, I think.

I think the game deserves a teen rating. You won't see a single drop of blood in the whole game except for two scenes (3 if you count the PS version.) Though I think an M rating is also possible if ever it will be released for the virtual console, due of the nature of the girls deaths.

Poor Dan...

I always thought it was teen, but I'm not too sure.

It would be mature, or censored of some things to put it at T maybe...I'm not sure, we are talking some hard core themes.

I'd say Teen. While there is blood, its just not graphic enough, nor are the game graphics all that much. Even my little sister was allowed to watch me play and my mom's really picky about that stuff, so I really can't see it getting higher than a T-rating.

Not sure on this one. Its possible it would be 'T', then again seeing how strict things are now a days, its possible that it could be 'M'.

Thatīs why the game is so good! Itīs got animal cruelty, satanic rituals, alot of girls dyeing horrible deaths.. All that good stuff that are considered either FUBAR or tabu today.

T rating. Because you never see blood except for a few parts, and because itīs pixelated too..

Because it's a confusing name.

I would give it a T, but with the ESRB all up in a craze after Manhunt 2, it would probably get an M anyway...

Rated M for mature... Because that they kill people... And show satanic symbols... <-- My guess as to why they would do that..

Hmm... for when it was released, Mature. After all, they didn't bring it to the US. But for the VC, I'm not too sure. It's not too graphically advanced, but there is a share of blood, religious reference, and and few other things that would bump it up to M. Still not sure, though...
