Since Enig and I were chatting a bit about how ultimately dissatisying the Shannon subplot was and how it could have been improved and/or what could have been removed from the story to make further space for it, it inspired me to pose the question to the fellow forum members. What would you have added and/or subtracted from the game in order to improve the overall story and why?

You know you wrote 'eliminate Shannon plot' twice right... Cause, I was thinking of expanding it

Yeah, like what victim said, you have "I would have eliminated the Shannon subplot." there twice. What do you want me to change one of them into?

I choose "I would have expanded the Shannon subplot more. " She has the ingredient for a perfect villain with her background story being tied in with both Alyssa and Allen.

Also I choose "I would have eliminated the zombie subplot." The zombies were highly unnecessary and a cheap shot at being similar to Resident Evil since they were pretty popular during the release of Clock Tower Ghost Head.

I also choose "Other". I think that subplot-wise, I would like to know more about the Tate Family after Scenario 1 because outside of Philip, they were pretty much thrown to the side aside from Michael's WTF entrance in Ending G.

Because it's a confusing name.

I would eliminate the zombie substory. It had TOOOOOOO much Resi and not enough original. However, if the rest of the game was kept intact as it was, I would seriously think it was awsome. As much as people hate it, it wasn't that bad. But yeah, that's my vote.

I chose:

  • I would have expanded the Shannon subplot more.
  • I would have eliminated the zombie subplot.

I chose the first three. Shannon was one of my favorite characters (heck all the CTGH characters were awesome) so I would have been happy if she had more screentime or had even been her own type of stalker.

The zombie stuff was just stupid. It made the entire game frustrating. I think if the zombies were gone, it would have made the game much better already.

And I think Michael as a stalker was kinda pointless too. I'll admit that he did scare me the first few times he chased after me, but after that it just got annoying. Having two stalkers in the same chapter was exhausting, not to mention that Michael appeared EVERYWHERE enough as it is. I'd maybe just have him chase after Alyssa the first time, and then after that no more.

I voted for "I would've eliminated Micheal as a stalker" and "Other".

"Other" is about the Zombie subplot. I wouldn't have eliminated it, but I would've decreased the number of zombies (or at least not to rapid appearances), so that the game doesn't get that frustrating.

ALYSSA! I've become a Subordinate!

I picked "eliminate the zombies" "expand Shannon's plot" and "eliminate Michael as a stalker." I only picked the latter, though, because he didn't get a whole lot of development.

DEATH TO THE ZOMBIE SUBPLOT!

I really always wanted to know more on Shannon, and I really would have liked to have a better subplot for her. Also, Micheal kind seemed like he was added just to be added, so I chose eliminate Micheal as well.

I know, it's generic and unoriginal, but...

Heh, seems we're all on the same page for what should have been eliminated/expanded, heheh.

But definitely the worst thing about Michael being in Scenario 1, along with Stephanie, is sometimes the two of them can figuratively paint you into a corner if you're not careful, and it's definitely more annoying than scary. I remember I had to get to Michael's room via the balcony access from Ashely's room to his. However, Michael was on the balcony so I had to run back into Ashley's room. Then Stephanie came a calling not long after I entered the room and I ended up getting sandwiched. :P

Somehow I have a feeling the game developers made it so that would happen, I always found it annoying how Alyssa (after knocking a stalker out) goes to the nearest door automatically (they didn't have this in CT USA did they?) That just made the game fustrating for me but I think they (game developers) did it in the concept of being able to get cornered. That is scary.

Too bad they only shot themselves in the foot and made it an annoying torture in itself. :P

Edgeworth's on the verge of Panicking

FUJIKA! I love her sooo much. She rocks- I wanna see more of her.

As for the zombies, I really didn't mind them too much- less appearances would make my life easier though.

Otherwise, it leaves room for a CT2/RE crossover I wanna write- in which Fujika won't die! *shakes fist*
The Reasons Clock Tower And Resident Evil Can't Be Crossed Over:

1. Alyssa would pwn all the zombies.
2. Bobby would probably kill someone. It's his job.
3. Jennifer would solve the puzzles in minutes.
AND
4. Bates owns Wesker and that is that.

"I see number four as a perfectly good reason to make a crossover!"-Me

"Give me back my cow!" -My sister, upon having to chase me around the house to get back her stuffed plush... of a sheep. XD;;;

I felt Shannon killed herself not because of revenge, but because the writers forgot to tell her how exactly she was supposed to enact this revenge, apart from creepy dialouge she had no idea and killed herself from the shame of selling out to a company that didn't have any ideas for her.

In all seriousness, the vibe you get from first meeting her says "I'm mysterious and will make this game hell" but all she does is pansy out when trying to fight Bates, shoot Bates, choke Alyssa, or talk to Alyssa, and then she just kills herself for next to no reason. I mean, if her whole point was that daddy didn't give two cents about her, then how exactly would killing herself do ANYTHING to her father, which judging from his reaction ("Foolish girl") it didn't. I think what happened was they intended for her to be a stalker, a more myterious one that doesn't nessecarily chase you, but pop up every now and then to try to shoot you or activate some kind of puzzle that will kill you unless you solve it, you know very rarily to add to the fear factor. But clearly, the writers were really low on ideas and were already unsure how to explain many things about the game, and yet the game was too far into development to remove Shannon. So more her, besides I always got the vibe that the zombies WERE super natural and Shannon's fault, hence she just so happens to be at this hospital, but this too was scrapped.

I picked to expand Michael's role as a stalker, because his only line is a scream, and you don't even see him enter the Samurai armor and go crazy. It'd be scarier IMO if you see him go into the armor and go insane inside of it right in front of your eyes, as opposed to the armor just stumbling toward you. Maybe also he should have known Alyssa already, since they're not too far apart in age.
