Another shallow poll from me! =P So I was wondering your thoughts about Shannon Lewis' name, mostly concerning the Lewis part of her name. Clock Tower II have already established that Shannon is her real name and not an alias, because we read this dialogue in Scenario-3: ALLEN: "Shannon, stop!" SHANNON: "What a joke, calling my name! Did you ever have the right to call me by my name? You've abandoned me, when I was just a little girl!" Allen knew that her name was Shannon even before Shannon had the chance to introduce herself to her father. So now we have left is the Lewis part of her name. From the choices I have selected, here's a detailed explanation of them: "Her real name is Shannon Hale, she took her mother's maiden name [Lewis]." - Her father is Allen Hale and her mother is Mrs. Hale née Lewis, thus their daughter was named Shannon Hale. But when her parents got divorced and her mother took custody of her, Shannon changed her surname to that of her mother's maiden name. Therefore she is now named Shannon Lewis. "She has no surname, her first and middle name are Shannon Lewis." - Maybe Lewis is a middle name; much like the popular Barbara Jo or Mary Alice or Mary Jane. So maybe Shannon has a masculine middle name? It's a bit stretching, but who knows? She was born as Shannon Lewis Hale, but when her parents got divorced, she only went by her first and middle name. Therefore she never had any surname present. "I still believe that Shannon Lewis is an alias." - Maybe you still feel that Shannon Lewis is just a fake name in order for the real daughter of Allen Hale to get as close as she can to the events of Clock Tower II? Now I'm curious about what you guys think! =D It's still a shame that we don't get to learn much about this mysterious woman. |

I have to say that I am one of the few that thought initially when I read the name Shannon Lewis, that it was her first and middle name. ||| orz Her name just flow so well, that Lewis seem like a middle name to me. But now, I choose that Lewis is that of her mother's maiden name because seeing as how her mother was named in the Japanese version [Ryôko Midôshima], most likely her name was Ms. Lewis in the American version. Heck, I don't even know why they even bothered with a surname in her name in the first place. Fujika didn't needed one when we read about her. So she could've just went by the name Shannon and no one would have thought to think twice about her. Unless they want to give her the surname to try to dissolve any predictions that she could possibly be related to Allen Hale. |

I picked "no opinion" because I think both 'it's her mother's maiden name' and 'it's her middle name' are good theories. Could it also be her mother remarried after the divorce and "Lewis" is her stepfather's last name? Just wonderin'.[redit][/redit]

!! Wow, I had never thought about that before! That would make a lot of sense if she took on her step-father's name considering if her mother did got remarried! =O |

I always assumed that Lewis was her mother's maiden name, and she took it to sever off any ties to her father. |
