No, the more I read about the more it sounds like it’s going to be a damn solid horror film. We just posted an interview with the remake’s writer, Todd Farmer, best known for his work on Jason X and The Messengers, and he gave us an update on some of the other writing gigs he’s had recently. ”Clock Tower, which is based on the Clock Tower III video game, will start shooting in Michigan in September, last I heard” Farmer told us, ”I’m going to LA to see a new cut of Valentine, and while I’m there I might be checking out a the first cut of Messengers 2, as well. Oh, and I just finished working on a draft of Monkey’s Paw for RKO Pictures...” That is good news about Clock Tower, which you may recall is being helmed by Hills Have Eyes 2 director Martin Weisz. It’s been gestating for so long it’ll be nice to finally see it getting done. Michigan is an interesting location, too; I didn’t realize they allowed moving pictures there yet. That was a joke, by the way.

University Staff Housing - Landlord (Helen, pay the damn rent) Posts: 346 Group: Granite Orphan Member #193 Joined: 09/26/07 Gender: Male ♂	I have to say, I am glad that there is SOME news on this movie, and that maybe the confusion about which game the movie will be based on is cleared up (honestly, if they're going to potentially ruin one of the games in translation, it might as well be CT3). A little disheartening that CT is mentioned in the same dialogue as "The Messengers 2," but it's probably not the WORST thing in the world. At least it's no longer being directed by that "One Missed Call" guy.

However, I am sure that this is because the movie has been in development hell for several years (in all actuality, the film rights were purchased in like 2000 or 2001 but the originally planned movie was shelved when the game rights were sold). Several different directors have been attached to the movie and I'm sure different scripts as well, but it seems that the one they're currently using is based on CT3. In all of the recent announcements the CT3 storyline has been cited, and Mayhem Project also uses that plot on their website (although they use the CT2 logo, wtf!)

Mayhem Project's site still has the Ghosthead-ish plot (I coulda swore it was the CT3 one last night but I must have been mistaken). Mayhem is now partnered with Senator, so I'm assuming the Ghosthead plot is more likely to be used. Maybe Todd Farmer really just had no idea which script they were using since they obviously aren't using his Clock Tower 3 script.[redit][/redit] Edited by ReijiKido99, Aug 31 2008, 01:03:41 PM.
