I'm just thankful they didn't botch the plot as much as I thought they would. The breaking point for me is if it becomes PG-13. Then I can honestly say this movie is a waste. I think if it gets an R rating then there will at least be SOMEWHAT of a chance of it not being a travesty (though, I'm not holding my breath in that department).[redit][/redit] Edited by ReijiKido99, Sep 15 2008, 06:38:44 PM.

I think it might be interesting, though I'm already prepared to be disappointed by it being unworthy of the Clock Tower name...but interesting is better than bland. It's just that I could see it being worse, even though I could also see it being a lot better too. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. As for the rating, I'm torn...an R-Rating is the only way the movie has hope of being something akin to an Argento film (which a Clock Tower film should be) but it also allows for them to possibly throw in a graphic sex scene (which is totally uncalled for). I don't see any place in the plot for that so far (using the rape scene for that, I would think, would be too low even for Hollywood...maybe) but the last slasher film from Hollywood (the Halloween remake) seemed to attempt to usher back in the "Slasher films MUST have graphic sex scenes" mentality, which was nowhere to be found in Clock Tower or the Argento films that largely inspired it. But assuming they don't try to sex it up, an R-Rating would definitely be the way to go for a Clock Tower movie; they could bring back that fear-of-violent-death flare that has been lacking in murder-movies for so long, that flare that the original Clock Tower games were not afraid to go for, so that it would be ridiculous if a movie based on them was afraid to go for it.

Man...I miss Evil Dead (before they turned it into a comedy)

Bates being a psycologist sounds unusual, and the villain sounds like he's gonna be a cross between Darkman and Edward scissorman. Hopefully it will be a little better than the average, run off the mill slasher pic. Those only concentrate on three things: 1. The stalker is more distinct and memorable than any of the protagonists, and lots of expendable minor characters are killed to show off his coolness. 2. Lots of gore, maybe some secks, and bits of dark humor, sometimes akrwadly placed. 3. All the good guys look very hot, ecspecially the females.

I think the idea of Bates being a psychiatrist does sound good on paper, but I think that Barton or Allen would've been an acceptable replacement. Too bad with the storyline going on, it seems that maybe Dr. Bates would develop an affair with young Alyssa. Then we got our pedo-incest-wtf factor going there. I'm sorry...but this movie plot...is sucking for me. I usually am not apart of the nay sayers crowd. I liked the Silent Hill movie very much...but this...there is nothing eye catching for me. I think Phenomenon is the only close thing to an actual movie for Clock Tower. (too bad thats what clock tower is based off of so that kinda cancels that out.) And the Bates thing makes me VERY SAD.......unless they get someone hot to play him....then maybe.....
