ALYSSA! I've become a Subordinate!

I'm currently replaying Clock Tower 3, and I've noticed a couple of things I somehow managed to miss my first zillion times through. 1. The Book of Entities says Ruders have been around since the days of Rome... but in the Ruder graveyard, there are several sculptures that are far older in style (notably, the Heiroglyphics on the mausoleum walls). Is it possible they've been around longer, and Rome is just the first time they were noticed and written about? (Or does Chopper just love Egyptian design? ;)) 2. Something else I noticed in the Ruder graveyard, and I have a feeling I'm probably the last on this particular boat. I never took a good look at the speaking Ruder ghosts before, but I did this time... and noticed there was one with long black hair :ct1jennifer: , one with short red hair :lotte: , one with shoulder-length wavy blonde hair :rolla: , and one with shoulder-length straight brown hair :anne: . Neat tribute! 3. And the promised question about the Dark Gentleman. He's the form Dick Hamilton takes to chase Alyssa... so what's his picture doing in the book Nancy hid in her mattress, which predates Dick's birth? The logical assumption is that Lord Burroughs was the first to adopt the guise of the Dark Gentleman... but then why're his clothes so modern, even in the old picture? (I have a feeling there is an obvious answer to this I'm missing and I'm gonna slap my head for it later...) |

#3: Just here to administer my own head-slap. Since Alyssa found herself smack in the middle of WWII and Dick was able to travel to the century where the Burroughs castle still stood, it's possible for the Dark Gentleman to be a recent creature and still crop up in old timelines, with all the time travel going on here. But that leads me to another question, albeit more of a speculative fun one: since those things happened without the use of Portal Squares, does CT3's clock tower have the same time-warping powers as CTFF's? |

#1: ... You know, I've never thought about that. Having "normal" people not notice about it until around the ages of Rome makes sense, but how would you miss something like magical girls fighting homicidal maniacs for so long? #2: Excellent observation! Never noticed that. #3: You gave a better explanation than I ever could with your second post. XD;; |

I thought maybe the stories were being passed by word-of-mouth before then, which would have made them easier to lose or change. Also, since it doesn't seem like anyone's ever around when they fight (except ghosts), it's possible they use that friend of magical girls and cosmic warriors everywhere, the dimensional barrier, to keep innocent bystanders from being hurt or interfering.
It's TRUE! |
