But I think I found someone who inspired Human to make Bates. Who isn't Dario. Hitchcock(I think) Made a movie in 1960's called "Pyscho"I'm sure you all know the famous death scene of a woman taking a shower with a shadow coming up from behind the curtain with a knife....er anyway... The killer was a man with a multiply personality disorder, he's other personality is that of his Mother, who is cruel, but loves him dearly and gets jealous each time he is interested in another woman. Which leads to her taking over and killing. Sounds kinda like Bates so far? Funny.... The mans name: Norman Bates. Edited by 123lealea, Nov 30 2008, 07:24:58 PM.

I think thats probably why they named him Bates when they were translating the game but that doesn't nessesarry mean that Bloch/Hitchcock inspired Human to create him.
