Hey guys, I was searching around on youtube when I came across a certain series of home-made video game reviews, and surprise-surprise, Clock Tower 3 was on there, link to it below. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cv35_TcmzfU I mean, I already owned her verbally right there and then. (I am Majic275 on youtube.) But any thoughts? Like I said I personally thought the review was pretty unfair, but does anyone else agree/disagree? Or at least learn something from it? Discuss. |

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But I'll admit, she did a horrible job at doing just that. The review was very poor itself in terms of it being a good OR bad game. Couldn't take this one seriously. |

I'm not saying people aren't entitled either, but I just thought it was unfair the way she hardly played the game for about five minutes and then she was all like "Screw this I'll just let her die." And she kept complaining about the fact that you don't get any weapons... Which is the whole point of the game. I just really think she didn't give it enough of a chance, and she was way too obsessed with comparing it to Resident Evil and Silent Hill, which is not what it's trying to be like. Sure, they're horror games but beyond that there's really not much in common, Clock Tower is pretty individual and unique game, I just thought she didn't really appreciate that. |

Frankly, CT3 is my favorite horror game along with haunting Ground and the Resident evil series. CT3 is more horror/Spiritual/fantasy/survival and thats what I like about it. This is what I said: Well realistically: A 14-year-old wouldn't weild a gun, now would she? This is about actual survival! No guns, no weapons, only wits! Its called Horror/Survival for a reason. I like Resident evil and Silent Hill is good, but for people who don't know how to weild guns or any weapon need to run and hide to SURVIVE. That is true Horror/Survival. Using wit and resources. Not a weapon and shooting everything. |

LOL! I have a brother that did that too! He was having a go at Clock Tower 3 for the first time. The entire time he was saying " give me a gun, I want a gun" I asked him if he was going to stop playing and he said " Of course; It's annoying to play w/o a gun." But no badmouthing this guy though, he got the game for me in the first place, he's just plain awesome ^_^ |

Thank you, Lea! Plus it's in good old Britain, guns are VERY hard to get hold of over here, unless you do it illegally... So it's also realistic in that way as well. I also thought it was annoying how she talked about Alyssa's personality, she said how she didn't HAVE any personality and how you "don't feel any emotional connection to her." Sheeee does have personality, you mainly see it when she interacts with Dennis, but beyond that I found her a pretty likeable character. She's pretty brave and she actually cares about other people, like it's her own choice to save Dorothy and Albert, knowing full well what it would mean. Surely that says something about her, right? As for being emotionally connected, how can you not feel sorry for a innocent 14 year old girl thrown into a situation like that? Methinks she just found her British accent so hilariously amusing it means she didn't have to bring herself down to her level... Right. :dry: I felt a tad insulted by her Brit impersonation, we're not a laughing stock dammit! |

Wish could see the video but youtube is not working on my side sometimes ^^: plus can't get to log in and comment .__. . But from what I read here sound that the person did unfair review. Some people like horror stuff but with guns and action they think its true horror survival. Honestly I prefer when the victim use the surrounding to survive, plus it makes the game more advanced and tense. CT3 was very good game love the fact that each subordinate got background story like before they become murderer except for Ralph and Jemima they are murderer from the start XD well damn it still their past are unknown >.<::: Hope that person will consider giving a better and fair review next time. |

XD;; I hate it when guys are like "OMFG GAMER CHICK NO WAI" and now it's caused half of them to think that CT3 is really bad when they haven't even tried it -___-; Really I hate when people don't even try a game to form their OWN opinion, not her 5 second opinion! Not to mention her review was really unfair, like Han said she kept comparing it to RE and SH. Just because RE and SH are popular series, doesn't mean that every horror game has to be like them! I find that kinda close-minded. If every main character in horror games toted a gun around, that would be unrealistic and get boring after a while (plus, a lot of people find being defenseless even scarier). I agree that she can have her own opinion and I did find the review amusing at times (I always like to see people's first impressions on my favorite games) but the thing that really bothered me is people not even giving CT3 a chance because of one person's opinion. |

Hee hee, Makoto your post really made me giggle. I mean, you are completely right, I wouldn't say that girl is ugly, but she's not... That attractive either, just goes to show how the gaming community really will take what they can (ever possibly at some point in time) get. And I hated how everyone was like "Aw, casual swearing, SO COOL." I mean, god damn I casually swear every sentence in real life, MY SISTER DOES, come to think of it my sister is probably better looking than her and she loves games... Errr, anyway, getting off topic. But yeah it really annoys me when people do that kinda stuff with games, which is why quite a lot of games I like end up being quite unpopular, Clock Tower 3 being probably the best example. Granted, there was that one time I played Two Worlds on the Xbox 360 for literally about ten seconds then never touched it again... But that was just once! And in fairness the game really wasn't what I expected anyway... Shut up, I know it was only ten seconds! @ Mori: Yeah it's really starting to annoy me about the whole international thing on youtube because it means I can't link anything from youtube to people outside the UK, someone clarify this for me: there is a way you can access "Internetional" Youtube, right? It would make my life a lot easier for stuff like this. Anyhoo, if you want to watch it yourself just search something along the lines of "Sadie's gaming infection Clock Tower 3" and it should come up. Lowlz, it's okay, sometimes you just know after a short period of time if a game is just not your kind of thing. I've done that with a Wii game before, I thought it looked cute but it ended up being like a children's game. o__o I felt so retarded and just turned it off. XD So yeah just as long as people play a game with an open mind and not just declare it a bad game and refuse to play it because someone else did . . >_> A lot of people think that CT3 (and CT2:TSW a lot of times) looks stupid but you may be surprised when you play it. Also something I forgot to mention before, how does Chris Redfield have any more personality than Alyssa?! XD I think he showed even less than Alyssa did. It bewilders me XD (and yeah, casual swearing =/= automatic coolness. XD Just a way of speaking really) |

Oh no, I agree 100%. I was just saying that her opinion on the game was....well....not even an opinion. She conducts a review based on her own likings and personality. Definitly NOT someone who should make reviews. In fact, it wasn't really a review, it was just a video of some gamer girl getting her lulz. Perhaps one day I'll do an in-depth review on CT3 and post it on Youtube. Something you can at least take seriously. |

Well, I mean obviously they're not like a professional game reviewer or anything... They just think they are. I don't mean to have a go so much but the problem is that I am British, so as such I crave disappointment. I know I sometimes say games are crap because there's stuff in it I personally don't like... But even then i'm usually man enough to say "It's not bad, but it's just not for me." I think the whole thing that made it fail was the way it's like "Oh it's really scary but it's a dumb game." WTFKABNDKH?¬! I thought horror games were supposed to be scary... Eh... I don't know... Some people just get on my nerves without even trying... :laugh: |

People do have a their own opinion about stuff. That's fine with me. But she didn't really give the game a chance nor did she talk about why she didn't like it. She basically just said "I didn't like this game." :dry: |

Yeah, I think she just uses the reviews to try and look cute. She went kinda overboard with the whole accent thing and definitely didn't give the game a chance so, yeah, I completely disagree with her "review." (And I think she only "killed herself" because she was too stupid to get away from Sledgehammer lol) (And she reminded me of Sarah Palin lol) (lol) |

Hi there, first post old topic. But yeah, i remember this vid when it was posted it was just terrible and i remember i commented on it a while back. I also remember a comment when she said you dont feel for the character. But yet you do for the emotionless leon from resident evil 4 Then then comments of hpw its hard to save but saving in other games such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil is fine. strange
