ALYSSA! I've become a Subordinate!

I’m sure we’ve all got at least one: a deeply-held belief about the plot or a character that we’re SURE is right, in spite of there being no justification whatsoever to be found in the game/supplemental material and no creator confirming or even mentioning something like it. The Improbable Fan Theory. So... what are yours? They don’t have to be logical or provable and they can sound funny, but I would like them to be theories you honestly find plausible. Here are mine: 1. Eyeballs, as I affectionately call him, is a real creature. While symbols and fantastical creatures show up in the Burroughs family murals and statues all the time, most of them are Jungian; the figures, though grotesque, are humanoid, and the symbols, though slightly twisted and rearranged, are familiar. Not so with Eyeballs, a creature carved in relief on the door of the Burroughs family cathedral in Clock Tower 2. A knotted pillar of stalks dotted with eyes, he is both more realistically-drawn and more foreign than anything else that appears in the murals. Which made me not only notice him, but wonder if he was maybe more genuine than the others. Therefore, I began to think he was a real creature (and on my crazier days, that he’s the “true form” of Scissorman, or at least as close as a human can come to envisioning it). 2. The sledgehammer Entity took control of Robert Morris by force. While the other Subordinates were predisposed to violence (or at least crime) before they became possessed by Entities, Sledge didn’t attack anyone until afterwards. One of the articles in his level mentions shock and disbelief on the part of people who knew him, and it sounded as if they were just as surprised at his involvement in the crime as they were at its brutality. Hence, I tend to think Sledgehammer, stripped of his Entity, would probably not be very dangerous. Or even very mean. (I also wonder if he’s one of the weaker Subordinates because his Entity can’t completely control him. Like it’s stuck with the spirit equivalent of a bad internet connection). 3. Jennifer likes math. Most of this is based on a throwaway line in which Jennifer complains she doesn’t like to read, and the rest of it comes from her dad being a doctor. I figured, maybe she’s not big on language arts because she’s a number person, and since her murdered father was into that line of work, maybe she feels like it’s the only connection she can have with him. |

I've mentioned this before, and I don't know if it would be improbable enough but: I had a theory that Dan was accedently turned into an obese demon baby. And that Mary was doing a number of sacrifices that was part of a ritual to turn Dan human, and the four girls was the last set of orphans. But, since one sacrifice was missing, Dan wasn't quite complete and therefore`had a limp in Clock Tower 2. By the way JBurroughs, I hadn't known that about the eye creature. Sounds like a cool idea. Maybe someone could make a fanfic with that. |

Entities have many ways to take over: With the case of Sledgehammer, as you said, he was forced into becoming a subordinate, possibly because he was weak minded and/or weak willed. In the case of Chopper, he snapped, the entity saw the oppertunity to take over him without force. With the cases of The twins and Corroder, they were already evil, so they already had an entity or it unknowingly came. With Burroughs, it was a bargin with the Entity. It would grant him eternal life, in exchange he brings darkness and death to the world. Harris and Nolan's Pedophilic desire for Jennifer: Now, I don't believe both of them went for Jennifer just because she Jailbait. With Nolan, because he's a newsreporter and probably loaded with cash, he wants someone who doesn't want too much, innocent and non-manipulitive, because most woman around he's age are usually like that. With Harris, I believe its because all woman around he's age aren't interested in him, which cause him to be quiet with lowself-esteem. He wanted a woman who didn't want to much from him other then what he can offer, Jennifer is the type of girl who is sweet, innocent, helpful and only wants to love and be loved and have a family that she could never have for 8 years. She is what both of them want. Thats all I got. |

The only theory I have is that Ralph bought his clothes from Camden Market. For those of you who don't know, Camden Market is an area in London which has loads of shops that sell alternative/gothic clothes. Completely random, but Ralphs clothes look like stuff you could find there to me... |
Many thanks to Mori for making this sig and avatar for me! <3 | |
