Question; Second Floor with S or A Ending

I beat the game and got every ending, using a guide for all of the ones I hadn't got from playing on my own. However, there was something I never did, and am now curious about... what happens if you do everything in order to get an S or A ending, but go to the second floor instead of the third? At first I thought it'd just give you the C ending, but that wouldn't explain what happened to your friend who's still alive.
