Born to rune Posted: Apr 22 2007, 03:59 PM Advanced Member *** Group: Admin Posts: 339 Member No.: 8 Joined: 27-March 07 I do the cooking, but that is simply because NB and a cooker are a recipe for disaster! I've tried to get them to do some cooking, but they really just don't concentrate on it enough! As for recipes, one I do occasionally is cabbage leaves stuffed with rice - and even NB eats cabbage this way! A good method to get someone who might usually eat it to perhaps enjoy more. Basically you can change the ingredients around, but par boil or steam the cabbage leaves for a few minutes just to make them pliable. Then use a couple of tablespoons (for 2 people) of rice, pre-cooked. Add whatever spices you might want to. Garlic, herbs, even sultana's or raisins and some curry powder - boiled eggs, and mushrooms also excellent. Mix it all in with the rice, spoon onto the leaves, and then roll them up. Place in an over proof dish, throw over a basic tomato sauce (I use Passata, garlic, onion and herbs) put in oven, with some cheese on top if you want. Bake for about 20 to 30 minutes. Serve. |

Unless most of the stuff gets nuked, then I starve.. Though I can cook mashed potatoes and pork schnitzel and my peas go in the nuke machine.. I absolutely hate cooking, tis the most boring thing ever invented.. I seem to burn most things even a boiled egg, sadly I walk away to do something else and forget they are on the stove... I have been known to peel potatoes put them in the sink, then they disappear, seems the insinkerator steals them (you know that thing that munches stuff up when it goes down the plug hole... Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship.. |

I do like cooking though, for me it's just a great big experiment, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. That recipie you put up Rune sounds like Dolmas. Have you tried those? Rice mixed with some veg and spices and wraped up in vine leaves. Yummy. I have a brilliant Italian Lamb roast recipie I have decided to do for you to when you come to visit. -------------------- Playing Devil's Advocate and causing havoc |

wish someone would beam me up

today in the kitchen of Scotty I have at my disposal, one slow cooker, a lovely piece of Scottish Premium Rib Roast bought for £1.97 reduced from over three pounds, which is too small to roast but will be perfect for slow cooking. I have some carrots and onions and potatoes. I shall place the meat in the slow cooker after browning it and surround it with chopped up veg cover it with stock and leave it to cook slowly for maybe 5-6 hours. Then I will thicken the gravy and serve. Should keep me going for three nights!!! |
