I love Bread - we knead the dough......
|
Now for those of you who know us, you will be aware we've spent the best part of 2 years renovating our house. You know the sort of thing - you get the estate agent with their usual sales chatter - along the lines of: "And here we have the kitchen" and as you walk in, you at least expect something like a sink...... Not just a rising water main at floor level with a stop cock on...... and four bare walls! Nothing else! Even the old boiler had vanished........ Well, except for an old pump for it. So the reason we've been off the boards a lot lately is our attempts to try and get the bathroom and kitchen close to finished (among other things). Now, this is slow progress. I suffer with arthritis, NB has health problems, so it takes us four times longer to do a job. But we simply can't afford to pay someone else to do it - and we do actually enjoy DIY! So for all of us who might dabble, I thought why not start this thread. To begin with: This was our bathroom that we had when we first moved in. Small (it had a cupboard behind the door which we demolished), it couldn't even contain a full sized bath! And.... décor that was...... dark. Plus tiles which were in a pretty poor state. Posted Image As of a couple of weeks ago we have it now looking something like this: Posted Image |

And then of course, you have the kitchen which is what we've been working on the most in last couple of weeks. This is one wall by where our cooker is situated. In need of slight repair before we can put a stud wall up over the pipework/cables. Posted Image |
