Posted by Brad....Subject Godebt One other thing.... Edwards Geldard is the solicitors acting on behalf on Go Debt against me. Anyway - Yesterday I was not allowed to speak to a manager at all - it was either pay the £2000 or we freeze your salary and list your property. not even possible to negotiate ANY instalment terms. Well this morning armed with knowledge from the OFT, I called again quoted several paragraphs from the OFT Guidlines for Debt Collecting, guess what, I was transfered to a manager within seconds, and suddenly the tune changed. Wel now suddenly I dont have to settle the full amount and I am able to negotiate instalments. I have also been promised (for what thats worth) that the Statutory Demand wont be issued "as we are negotiating". Well I have send a massive complaint to the OFT and will see the CAB as soon as I can. All I can say boys and girls - DO NOT LET THEM WIN and continue operating the way they do. Consumers have rigths and they have to stick to it.
