Hi CH.,
Glad car now ok.
As for cashback, it is still worth asking for it.They will use ANY excuse not to honour it. It was their fault that they had put wrong details in. In effect, they got you into the showroom under false pretences by offering this incentive.
This site has been up and running for about 5 months now . In all this time, nobody has said that they got their promised cashback, myself included.
They told me at the showroom that my £250 was being used towards the deposit, even though at the time they advertised that no deposit was required.
I argued the point at the time to no avail. Like most of us, I was desperately in need of the car, so foolishly agreed, just to get out of the showroom cubicle after what seemed like a lifetime. (Felt like being interviewed by the Gestapo!)
However the following day, I rang head office and explained that I felt robbed of my £250. At first, they said I couldn't have it. I insisted I wanted it and even put it in writing. In the end they relented and credited my account with the equivalent of 6 months roadtax. OK, not quite £250, but at least I got something.
