Basically you have a strong case to say you were missold insurances. Being self employed makes your PPI useless. They should have not sold it you and they know it.

The insurances were optional, its written on the contract. You did not have to take them out. If it makes you feel any better you have joined a very big club.

My advice to you is this: -

Write to Steve Plowman at DAF, Horsham. Inform him that you believe you were missold PPI as you were self employed. Ask for all your money back. This site will be very interested to see what he has to say. ermm

As far as weeing in the wind, when it comes to Steve Plowman thats exactly what you will be doing but with the wind blowing strong into your face. Horrible.

Still you never know, miracles do happen.
