Provident Financial CEO Robin Ashton to resign at end of 2006 UPDATE LONDON (AFX) - Sub-prime lender Provident Financial said its chief executive, Robin Ashton, is to step down 'by mutual agreement' at the end of the year. The company said Ashton's departure is amicable, adding that it paves the way for wider management changes as it proceeds with a planned demerger of its international division from the core UK arm in the spring of 2007. 'We had a tough few years due to external matters such as Poland and the Competition Commission enquiries, and I sat down with Robin and discussed where we were, and we both agreed a fresh approach was desirable,' Provident Financial chairman John van Kuffeler told AFX News in a telephone interview. www.forbes.com |
