Provident Financial chief to step down Times Online November Provident Financial chief to step down By Miles Costello The chief executive of Provident Financial, Robin Ashton, is to step down from the board of the doorstep lender at the end of the year "by mutual agreement", just three months before it pursues a crunch separate listing for its fast-growing international business. Mr Ashton, who had been in the job for five years, leaves the company entirely next April, shortly after the break-up is due to take effect.
