The saynotoyes forum last week received an email from The Walker Agency. This agency worked with Yes Car Credit for over five years and was responsible for advertising, PR, and other media responsibilities. The Walker Agency is now acting for Ucan Car Credit in a similar way. This is the email that we received from James who works for the business, My name's James Wood and I work with uCan Car Credit on their marketing. They've asked me to contact you in regard to a thread that you recently responded to on the 16th of November 'trading under a different name?' from MrsY. You responded to her query: 'Yes Car Credit stopped trading in December of 2005 but a lot of its staff have moved to other companies namely UCan Car Credit' We're slightly upset that you infer that uCan Car Credit might be treating it's customers badly without any indication that the company Mrs Y is referring to is uCan. uCan Car Credit is an entirely different company than Yes Car Credit and there are absolutely no complaints on any forum concerning their conduct with their customers. Whilst it is true that a small number of Yes Car Credit sales staff are employed at uCan, the management team is entirely different, and any finance or insurances are sold strictly in accordance with FSA guidelines. As YCC went bust almost overnight, making over a thousand people redundant, I don't think it's unfair to expect a few of their ex-staff to want to find employment elsewhere! Further, all uCan cars are sold with 3 months free parts and labour guarantee, so any customer of theirs who had suffered any mechanical failure would be covered for the repair. I'm fully in favour of forums like yours helping customers resolve issues with companies who are not fulfilling their obligation to them. However, I think you also have a responsibility to ensure that all your advice is accurate. In regard to uCan Car Credit, I'd be more than happy to put you in touch with their Communications Director, who could answer any of your questions in regard to uCan. I look forward to your response... Thanks James Wood The email relates to This thread Whilst we agree that there is no connection between the two companies, I can confirm that Ucan Car Credit employ YCC sales staff, YCC branch management staff and YCC senior management staff. We are also now aware that The Walker Agency act for Ucan Car Credit as they did for Yes Car Credit. To date we have received no complaints about Ucan, however we are closely monitoring the business and await responses from the consumer. |
