hello Cheybies, welcome to our forum,

Basically what Advantage have done is charged you for the whole agreement minus your instalments.

I would have thought they should have accounted for what they sold the car. This would have usually been sold at an auction. Their original quote of £8K suggests they have done that.

Regarding the insurances I wonder if they have done the same to you as YCC have done to our users. They will claim they have brought the insurances up front from the underwriting and they are none cancellable. Therefore you are liable for all of the insurance cover of the agreement. It seems to me this is what they are doing.

You have an argument in the fact you have a letter saying it should be £8K not £14K. Something tells me along the lines their admin guys have made a mistake. Chances are a judge would order you to pay £8K but dont quote me on that.

We are not familiar with the Advantage contract so its difficult to judge without having a look at it. If you want we can get our experts to have a look at it. They will check to see if it can be challenged. You never know there might be a chance the contract is unenforceable.
