You want unequivacle proof of what they are requesting. Refuse to pay anything until they prove what it is for. What was the car auctioned for? Proof of the auction and the amount O/S What was outstanding after they sold the car if they have? Once you have the info let us know and we can see where you stand. Anyone claiming money from you must prove what it is for ,not just state a figure and chase it. Get the facts I would call DAF and the debt collector and grill them for the above info.
