Hi there Jason. Ok you say you were self-employed. Now some levels of cover with YCC will cover those who are self-employed (mine does not). What you need to do is look through the termas and conditions of your cover (you should have been given this when you took out the agreement). Also you want to request from DAF a breakdown of this £1300. You say you gave the car back - was it auctioned and if so what did they get from this sale? This should have been taken off any outstanding balance. Also as you have VT at 24 months you should be entitled to a rebate on the insurances (something to do with the APR but don't ask me what). I would advise that you keep paying them for the insurances though every month as long as you have never defaulted on a payment whilst you have a look to see if your insurance did cover you. Obviously if it did not and you can prove you were self-emloyed at the time then you have a good chance of getting the PPI refunded as other members have (see the forums).
