Thanks for your replies. I have a letter from them which states: 'As discussed earlier today I can confirm that WF are willing to accept £5113.16 as full and final settlement of the above account. The breakdown of this settlement will be as follows: To be paid by Halfway Cars £4847.19 To be paid by you £265.97 I hope that this arrangement serves as conclusion to this matter......... Then as I stated previously, for whatever reason, my chq to them bounced. They would not represent it or allow me to pay amount straight into their account. Just stated that after they had been so leniant(!!), I was now liable for the full balance of £2566.77!!!! Big jump!! While all this is going on, the garage had sold the vehicle on again (obviously with o/s finance attached to it!) Megellen |
