Well done Brad. Stolen my thunder though as I'm about to publish page 18 onwards in another forum. Not complaining as you cannot beat a testimony like yours. Now get that complaint in and lets make GoDebt wish they never did business with YCC. ;) |

Having now read that Go Debt have violated at least 6 of those rules laid out in that PDF. If they call me on Wednesday, i'll quote each one to them, and tell them to get stuffed. |

Hi J, You MUST complain to the OFT - you can even do it via email it its easier - all the information is on the OFT Website. Goodluck! I'll let you know how I get on with the "negotiations" tomorrow. |

After looking at Go Debt's website, Edwards Geldard seem to own Go Debt - they are based in the same building for a start. So what this all comes down to is a shonky group of lawyers using and exploiting people ! |

Let me tell you.... This poor sods who work for this firm has NO idea (or atleast they pretend) that they are meant to adhere to guidlines layed down by the O.F.T I just got off the phone again with them to find out if they have decided if my instalment offer is ok - They ofcourse had no answer yet - but shockingly when I mentioned that since I have no answer I will consult with the CAB to represent me, she stipulated "We do not deal with third parties" - here again they are blatantly ignoring the guidelines IS THERE NO END!!!!!!!! All this for stupid outstanding insurance - by the way - how we be expected to pay for a warranty for something you dont own anymore? |

Complaint to OFT made
:) The "Deadline" for contacting GoDebt again is supposed to be today. I shall not be doing so. If they contact me, I shall inform them of the OFT regulations they have broken and that a complaint to the OFT has been made against them. |

Hi All, Just wanted to let you know that the kind people @payplan.com (Free debt advise) have been very helpful. They have told me to put my offer to GoDebt/Geldards in writing, attached a cheque of my offer with this - and continue to do this monthly - if they do not accept my offer and this goes to court I have proof that I was willing to pay this. |

Geldards.co.uk seem to rate themselves very high in the legal/media buisness. To quote what they state on the website : Sport, Entertainment & Media We represent well known amateur and professional sports clubs and organisations, sportsmen and women, entertainers and the media to advise in relation to sponsorship, defamation, passing off, malicious falsehood, trade libel and privacy issues. We also regularly act for corporate and public sector clients with such issues. I wonder if all of these ''High Profile'' clients they have know how they conduct the day to day ''Godebt'' business http://geldards.co.uk/media.aspx |

Milly, I can assure you these guys do know about us and why this site is here. So they have no excuse as far as not knowing how YCC do business. Like YCC they choose to ignore us, sticking their heads in the sand hoping we will go away. We are not going away, they are going to know about it and will regret doing business with YCC. Feel better for saying that. |

I beleive Godebt are just as bad as Yes Car Credit and make very good partners and propably allot of money out of each other. I am sure that both Yes Car Credit & Godebt are fully aware of each others business practises I would imagine they go hand in hand. :ph43r: :ph43r: I would suggest that Edwards Geldards attempt to distance them selves from Godebt as I am sure this will not do there puplic image anygood at all !! as they claim to be a company with ''high profile clients''  |

The website today received a couple of email enquires from a gentlemen employed by the govenment.. These are his comments : ...Thanks for that - I'll forward the link onto my colleagues who are mainly specialist money advisers for the Citizens Advice Bureau. With regard to car finance, although we have had many problems with other companies - Carcraft (online) etc about voluntary termination, aggressive collection - the bankruptcy threat is new. What is more puzzling is just what business sense does bankrupting clients make? Why not go through the county court process and apply for a charge on the property? Any money gleaned in assets from bankruptcy generally goes in official receivers fees and estate agents fees and to government plus I guess that many of Yes car credits clients with properties are mortgaged up to hilt and there would be little or no equity with which to pay Yes thus leaving them with no gain and hefty costs paid to companies... Regards |

As the OFT generally do not get involved in individual cases, complainants would be well advised to also report YCC to the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA), in particular Elizabeth Denyer. www.fla.org.uk. The more people who report YCC to both the FLA and the OFT, the more chance there is that something will be done about them. One of the issues which our organisation is coming across alot is the sale of expensive Payment Protection Insurance which is supposed to be voluntary but in reality is often compulsory - 'if you want the car, you must take the PPI'. If you can show that the PPI really was compulsory, it becomes part of the 'total charge for credit' and not part of the credit, and you may then be able to avoid paying anything under the agreement. This is, though, a very complex area and further advice would be needed. |
