coz it wasnt blowing at the time of the mot, mot basically say that the car is roadworthy at that specific moment, if you drive away from the mot place and a bulb blows, your car is then unroadworthy, does this make it the mot'ers fault, should he have not passed your car because the bulb was about to blow, did his crystal ball fail him

because in some cases the rate given to people is 19.9% .

in this case how can other retailers advertise Televisions at £40 then have £300 tv's in stock.

Hi,

I started with a high APR then they reduced it as i had kept up with my payments, I dont really have a complaint about the APR, my credit rating was rubbish so it was all I could expect, I wouldn't have gone there if I thought I could have got a better deal elsewhere.. it was purely out of desperation!

My complaint is that I have a finance agreement for more then twice the value of the car of which I have paid more than £1500 in repairs in less than 24 Months..

After reading all of this information I have decided to challenge YCC. My first stop is to ask for a statement of my account detailing the amount I have paid towards the car and the amount I have towards their phoney insurance and worthless warranty (AKA toilet paper).

Wish me luck!

Where to start....

Interior mirror "fell off" as soon as I opened car door - never been able to replace it properly
Brakes failed (on motorway)
Exhaust fell off
Head Gasket blew
Radiator blew
Catalytic converter fell off
Clutch evaporated.... :-(

All of which are not covered under the warranty - fancy that

perhaps it was because i actually used the car instead of just looking at it

Or perhaps it was because I paid twice as much for this car, surely that mneans twice as much going wrong

Gosh how silly of me to expect a decent car from YCC

We bought a car from yes, Once you have signed on the dotted line they dont give a s..t

We only had our car four weeks and there was major problems with the engine. I first took the car to our local Vauxhall dealership and after the inspection they said it had been involved in a previous crash as the car had a new bonnet and front wing on. This was apart from the engine problems.

So much for yes and the HPI ??

Yes said they would sort out the engine problems but would not change the car.

We are really not happy with it at all and are going to contact a solicitor in the next few days to see if we can cancel the contract

Will keep you updated...

I am sure that if one garage has noticed that a car has had major body work ie new bonnet and new wings that when yes car credit did the 125 check someone would have noticed and mentioned to the site manager that the car has had body repairs.

This is just a prime example why yes car credit have the reputation as 'cowboys' and they would not even change the car after the person had found out !

It really shows what this ompany is all about. I would have driven the car back to the showroom and told them to stuff it and wouldn't have even given them the option to say no to an exchange of car.

YES CAR CREDIT ARE BAD NEWS !!

Welcome to the forum No.1!

Your lack of understanding the simplest of concepts is impressive

A shop advertising cheap goods must have a certain number in stock to make such a claim. However, the ASA accept that stocks are limited, and that at a certain point the goods will run out whilst the advert still circulates. An example of cases where action has been taken is Richer Sounds (who have been going rather downhill of late in a rather spooky parallel to YCC way) who was regularly advertising 25 pound DVD players (back then a rarity) but having about 100 units to go round (Nationally!).

However, with an APR, this is not a special offer or finite supply item, so in order to claim that this is the most regularly offered APR, they must be able to substantiate it against their average customer base and the rates offered on average. I feel they would find this stat tricky to prove....

p.s Got a life thanks!

£1500 worth of repairs over 2 years is about normal for a car. My car which I bought brand new has cost more than that over the first 2 years. Cars are not free to run and they do go wrong.
I've got a mortgage for £170,000 on my house and am paying back £350,000. Credit costs money.

A new bonnet and 1 front wing are hardly 'major bodywork'. At least the car was repaired properly with new panels and not fillered.

Get your facts correct before making a very silly comments !

The car in-fact had two new front wings, a new bonnet, new grill and both headlamps replaced.
I have had a full report done on the car by Vauhall.
This could hardly be described as a couple of scratches a few dents on the car.... wear and tear items..
Vauhall have also made comments to that the work carried out had NOT been done to the standard of a maindealer.
If you had just bought a car for over ten thousand pounds and found the same out only having had the car for a matter of weeks I am sure you would want the car to be replaced too.

Please, before making crazy comments, find out the facts !

'COMPLETE PEACE OF MIND' This is what YCC would like people to believe.

The lady were are talking about bought a car along with a warranty, expecting what Yes Car Credit would like people to believe. 'COMPLETE PEACE OF MIND'

NOT having to pay out ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS in less than 24 months. ( probably because"it's not covered by the warranty") b...... !
Go and get a life!!

You paid out over £1500 for repairs on a brand new car in the first two years?

Please tell me the name of the manufacturer, I will take up your case for you with trading standards regards not honouring the 12 year manufacturers warranty.

And then I will help you claim back the money you paid out during the 2nd and 3rd years dealership warranty, because that must have been one badly run franchise! (I am assuming that it is not the handful of obscure makes not coming with a 3 year warranty)

Unless of course you are a YCC employee and made all that up... No? :o

Thanks to everyone that replied to my post...

I have to defend myself and say the reason I bought a newer car and not another old banger was because I didn't want to be caught out with a car that didn't work, I wanted something reliable. I simply did not get that!

Im not whinging im not moaning, i just dont think that having a nearly new car should cost you more than half of it's vlaue when you bought it in repairs in only two years.

I also dont appreciate the patronising tone i had from some replies, Im not stupid enough to think that you get something for nothing, but I truly bleieve in fair trading and dont feel as though YCC are promoting this.

If you have read any of my other posts you'll see that i agree with the higher APR - if i have a rubbish credit record then I deserve it - everyone has to make money somehow, i just think the quality of cars, service and unwanted insurance coupled with worthless warranties (my exhaust literally fell off about 8 months after i bouight it and the warranty didn't cover it or the brakes that failed about 5 months after my purchase) leaves a lot to be desired and needs to be investigated to prevent others being sucked in.

If you read the SAYNOTOYESSCARCREDIT web site you'll also see that my case is by far and away not the worst... lets all work together to get whats fair.

so did the like of MRS BRidges lodge a complaint with YCC? Did they go to trading standards? How long did she have the car?

If you car goes wrong in 6 months and you deem it not ot be wear and tear and YCC are not assisiting GO TO TRADING STANDARDS

If people don't have the common sense to look at car and think it's worth 2.5k but I am paying 12k for it I think I had better walk away then it THERE OWN FAULT. YCC is a shocking company but so are half of there customers who are just as equal to blame!
