Hi,

Firstly - great site. The only way to beat YCC is via a website like this.

Like many of you, I bought a car in December from NORWICH branch 2004. I was kept waiting for three hours, whilst they checked all my paper work. Eventually I got the car I wanted and off I went.

48 hours later car failed, they accepted the car back and swapped it out for another car. I wasn't happy, so they lowered by APR to 14.9% - WASN'T easy and I got 6 months road tax as well. Thankfully the car I have now (TOUCH WOOD) seems fine;- but for how long...

Anyway, enough of me bantering on............

My query is..........

FSA advised me YCC were members of General insurance Standards Council until January 14th, when FSA took over. They advised me to contact the General Insurance Standards Council to look at there T&C's, as I've been mis-sold my insurance policy by YCC. What can I do now?

Must I firstly complain to YCC? Then submit my comments/complaint to FSA?

Also, in April 06 I shall be half way through my agreement, were do I stand about returning my car early.

Many thanks, and keep up the good work.

Stevey G :-)

Yes say No to adverts in Sunday Newspapers !

For the first time Yes Car Credit puts a hold on Sunday tabloid advertising.

"The UK's No1" Once renowned for the full page adverts in the News Of The World, Sunday Mirror and expensive back page coverage seems to have stopped. No more offers of free Road Tax and cashback offers that used to be splattered across our Sunday Papers

As the company contiues to trade at a loss the advertising budget seems to have run out. The adverts since they were exposed on the BBC1 Whistleblower have got smaller and smaller only last week the company advert was hidden away and mixed in with 'chat line' adverts.

As of today nowhere to be seen a first for Yes Car Credit no offers nothing telling us that Britian is saying Yes !

Have Yes finally woken up and smelt the coffee !

Wheeler,

Mrs Bridges has paid 1500 for REPAIRS. You have paid 600, a bit of a difference.
Servicing, new tyres etc do not count in repairs. We all know cars cost to run but a repair bill like that of Mrs Bridges is really not good.  Also from what I'm seeing its still not fix.

No you are not in the same boat, I would have thrown you of a long time ago.

but mrs bridges didnt say that she had the car servicedm and whether this cost was included in the £1500 either.

think we should all let mrs bridges say what she spent the 1500 quid on before we all break out into another arguement.

Mrs Bridges, where are you?

Dawn,

Write to YCC at Horsham informing them you are returning the car. Special delivery it, they are not good at recording phone calls.

When you return it make sure they sign the vehicle doc that you send to DVLC for transfer of ownership.

Sign nothing else.

Good luck

After visiting Yes Cars yesterday and NOT buying a car can anyone advise me why they don't have prices on the cars.
It seemed to be a question that the sales person didn't/couldn't give a sraight answer to.

Update time!

Got a letter yesterday from YCC some 3 or so months since our last correspondence.

They are chasing the remaining £5400 (!) of the agreement within 7 days "or steps will be taken".

Another company may be assigned to collect this debt. (Godebt, I assume).

One thing that puzzles me is, on the letter they have listed the outstanding balance which is £2008 less for 'sales proceeds'?

Have they sold the car without my knowledge?

Is this allowed, seeing as the log book, etc are all still with me?

Things I'd do before dealing with YCC again:
1) Swim in a pool of double edged razor blades
2) Jump naked into a pile of drawing pins
3) Be the food taster for "I'm a Celebrity..."
4) Remove my toenails with pliers
5) Nail my self to a departing cruise liner

Oh No ... not Godebt :ph43r: Kev you need to talk to a brief regarding this situation. I was under the impression that the car was in the garage unusable waiting for repairs...

Or have you told them that you no longer want the car and have stopped paying them ?

I haven't paid them for 6 months!

I told them that unless they paid for the repairs (which to my knowledge are still not fixed, as the car is still in the garage) I would not pay the monthly fee.

They then refused to accept that the car had any problems and I told them that I was cancelling the contract under the Sales of Goods Act which, again, they refused to accept.

Then there was nothing...

Until now.

Bob,

Apparently its not law to put prices on the cars but they must have a "Price List" on show in the showroom etc. I bet most of the salespeople do not know this. If they do not have this Price List on show then you can report them to Trading Standards.

They don't have these prices on their cars because no one would go to them.

my guess would be that your car was repossesed as you hadnt paid them for 6 months, as far as i know, if you stop paying you really dont have a leg to stand on, if you had continued to pay, which i know seems very unfair, they would have had to keep the car for inspection as it would have remained yours, as you stopped paying, as with all finance arrangements, the car now becomes thier property again to do with as they wish, in this case it sounds like it went to auction, now you have no proof of the faults on the car.

So Steve Plowman has left, like many others since YCC have been exposed. I would like to track where these lot go so another site can be set up forewarning future customers of their new ventures.

So YCC are trading at a loss. Well it started with the BBC and it has been down to this site to carry on the momentum. Well done to everyone and lets hope we have a quick result.

Like many I have been stung by them and only hope for their demise. At this time I have no feeling for the staff including those who contribute to this site. You might need food putting on your table but at the expense of others who have been misled. Sorry not buying unless you undo the wrong.

So if we get our result then lets cheer then go after the idiots that left a sinking ship.

I have spoken to their Head Office this morning asking who the Chairman was - after a couple of minutes the answer came back 'Steve Plowman'. Finger on the pulse there then

Can they simply 'take and sell' a car without the previous owners knowledge?

Surely I would need to be told the steps beforehand?

the problem being is that until the finance is paid in full they are the owners of the car, its like when you have a mortgage, the bank owns your house till you complete the payments, default on the payments and they take back the house, if your roof blows off, the bank wont be interested you cant afford to put it back, they still want paying

You would at least expect the bank to write to tell you that your house would be repossessed within x days if no payment is forthcoming.

That has not been the case here.

So Steve Plowman is still there. I took it he left from a previous post on this site. So he is leaving within weeks, why? Usually these top guys know about things before anyone else at the bottom of the ladder.

K.

(DAFS) Have to issue you with a default notice and tell you that the agreement has now been terminated before they can go ahead 'repossess' the car so to speak (as I know the car was in a garage) and then sell the car and then demand the full outstanding balance.

My advice on this one is to contact a solicitor and get him to send a letter to Direct auto finance. From what I can see the correct procedure has not been followed.
