For over a week I have been trying to get this outfit to sort out my car.
They told me last week ( 16th Sept) that they had sent a claims assesser to look at my car at the garage. Said they were waing for the verdict as to who is to blame (!)

Rang again later in week. Told that they were sending an assesser that day

Had day off work today so rang again.
Rang the 0870 (10p a min) number. Kept on hold 15mins while recorded message played me music and told me they were very busy. Then was cut off .
This happened three more times. furious
Finally got through.

Told me that assesser going today to look at car. I told them that they had supposedly been (twice) before.
Then changed her mind and said theat had been looked at on 16th.

They had not yet received the report , but had asked the agent for it twice. Said would chase it up and call me back.
By 4.30 pm no phone call so I called them back.

Was told that the report had just been faxed through (coincidence)
Would call me back within half an hour. Told them I didn't want to be worrying all weekend so assured me DEFINITELY would call.
Guess what NO BLOODY phone CALL

Tried calling them back. Recorded message : "Sorry, we close at 5pm."

I'm absolutely livid.

Car been in garage nearly two weeks.

On verge of saying keep car and sue me for money.

What do you think I should do ?

If they take much longer with car, will tell them to keep it and sue me for the money. <_<

Whilst they are agreeing to fund a hire car I would ride the storm for now. As soon as they decide to withdraw that get right on the phone to Charlie MacDonald and put your cards on the table, fix it or keep it !

Called warranty this morning. Told me fax had just arrived this morning (was told the same yesterday) as I was on telephone to them.

Assesser decided not covered by warranty as car not been serviced to proper schedules. Said should have had cambelt before I bought it at 70000miles (had 70180 when I bought it)

I could have told them this over a week ago !! :angry:
Told them that car was supposedly full service history, but last evidence of service was THREE YEARS AGO at 40000mls!!!
Tried to call YCC investigation dept., but was told they don't work weekends.

Will have to take ANOTHER day off work on Monday to call and get a definite answer. If not given answer to my satisfaction, will tell them to stuff car up their censored

Only problem is all my CD's and other bits and bobs still in car at garage.

That old chestnut. :rolleyes: Is the reason, apart from the cambelt, they won't pay out because you have not had it serviced at the correct intervals.

Ever 6000 miles or 6 months. I think the terms are. Who has the car serviced that often these days ?

If I was you Buzz. I'd be down the gargage now taking all your bits out of the car. Just in case on Monday they will not agree to do anything for you.

Apparently the cambelt has never been changed and was so brittle, it has almost disintegrated. Makes me wonder what else might go wrong with it Even if I do get it back, I will never have any confidence in it.
I visit Lincolnshire on a regular basis, from my home in Manchester, often driving there or back very late at night. From where I live, I usually go over the Woodhead Pass or Snake Pass towards Sheffield.
As you live near to me, I'm sure you know what type of roads they are. Not a phone box along them and very hard to get a mobile signal because of the hills.

With a young child, aged 3, you can imagine how bad it could be if I broke down on there.

So much for YCC and their "COMPLETE PEACE OF MIND" boast furious

You would think that if a cambelt needs to be changed before the car is sold by Yes it would be done by them as part of the service/check that they do.

Cambetls are never done by Yes, unless, on the day you buy the car, you insist for this to be done as part of the deal.
