Can anyone please advise me. Three calls from GoDebt. Told to re-mortgage my home or I will lose it.

I have a recording of the last conversation. It includes me being told to obtain a loan or remortgage to pay them in full settlement.

Is this againt the law for them to tell me to do this? If so what steps can I take.

I am sure that both the OFT @ Trading Standards would be more than interested in listening to your issues. A contact for the OFT is displayed on this forum.

Clearly OFT guidlines are not being followed by GoDebt. (Again)

Enough-is-enough.

This is against their Code of Conduct practices that they are governed by. It is considered oppressive and should be reported to the OFT. Please have a read of the following link: -

http://www.oft.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/50F0652...50/0/oft664.pdf

These are the steps I would take: -
1. Go to your local CAB. They will act on your behalf regarding the debt. Also ask them to call their Support Specialists regarding Godebt. They will have an idea of what you are calling about as they having dialogue with them lately.

2. Send your story to admin@saynotoyes.co.uk. We have an agency who are challenging YCC/GoDebt over the legallity of the agreement. We will then pass your story onto the agency.

3. Finally report them to Trading Standards and OFT. See our banner for details.

Good luck and please keep us informed.

I have given the recording to my solicitor. They will be making contact next week. Under my instruction they are also sending a copy of the tape along with a formal complaint to OFT and Trading standards as the forum recommends.

Thanks to everyone for the advice.
I will keep you all informed.
