So there I was. Christmas Eve, getting ready to go to the in-laws for Christmas when I get even more bad news. A letter from the above debt collection agency. Never heard from them before, so before I put my fighting gloves back on, thought I'd put the feelers out to see who they are, etc. Don't worry though peeps, not letting this ruin my festivities!

Things I'd do before dealing with YCC again: 1) Swim in a pool of double edged razor blades 2) Jump naked into a pile of drawing pins 3) Be the food taster for "I'm a Celebrity..." 4) Remove my toenails with pliers 5) Nail my self to a departing cruise liner | |

Red Castle Recoveries see there website: - http://www.redcastlerecoveries.com/contact/index.html Did anyone notice that they use a 0870 number. This is a premium number costing 10p a min. The company using this number makes 4p a min out of every call. Basically its a scam. So this Red Castle company not only works with a scam company like YCC but are on the telecom scam wagon as well. BAKED, these 0870 numbers must be legal,i know they are a rip off but why do these big companies use them? my guess is for there greed. if they are a big company or any company for that matter,can the office of fair trading not intervine and put a stop to this? i am quickly starting to relise why they call this country RIP OFF BRITAIN what a title us brits are having to live with. |

Thanks for that Dave. Unfortunately I do not think 0870 no's are considered premium rates. Its a loophole that such companies like the ones we are fighting use. They know all the tricks. :angry: |

Not all 0870 numbers are charging callers 4p per min, this is an option, so unless you are 100% sure that is what they are doing, i would be careful what you put in print Pence per minute charges to NGNs from BT (incl. For a start I said 0870 cost 10p a min. The company makes 4p a min. Where did I say the charge of the call was 4p? I think its you who wants to be careful what you put in print before you slander someone else. Yes I've noticed my mistake. Its the 0871 no's that cost 10p. The 0870 cost between 7.91 to 1.5 depending on time onf day. Whoops. The issue is though that they cost more than the normal call and a company using them is making a cut. They are a way for such companies to scam money of callers and are causing such an issue just like YCC did and still is. |

Casper, I always suspected we would get individuals like this after we saw of the closure of YCC. Who he/she is, no idea. Perhaps there are several of them. The way I look at it these individuals act like this because somewhere along the way they have screwed up themselves. At least we admit our mistakes such as going to YCC and at least we don't wish it on others hence for this site. Sadly for these individuals it makes them feel better as it makes there screwups easier to handle. Thats my opinion. |

WHISTLEBLOWER,DOES THIS NOT COME UNDER HARRASMENT?WITH THEM SENDING OUT TEXTS LIKE THAT,ALSO I THINK THE BEST WAY AROUND THIS IS SIMPLY DONT GIVE THEM YOUR MOBILE PHONE NUMBER,AS THERE COULD BE A LOT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT COULD NOT HANDLE THIS SORT OF COMMUNICATION,AND DO SOMETHING STUPID,LETS HOPE THIS DOES NEVER HAPPEN. ALSO WHAT HAPPENS IF THEY PUT A WRONG DIDGET IN THE WRONG PLACE AND IT ENDS UP GOING TO SOMEONE THAT HAS NO DEBT,DOES THIS NOT COME UNDER SOME LAW IN THE COMMUNICATIONS ACT? Not too sure about the legalities of SMS Texts. There is a Topic Here with some info They will probably have your mobile number from the Yes Car Credit Personal Sheet that you complete in the branch or the info that you gave in when you made your application. |

AFTER PHONING ME ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS,I EVENTUALLY CHANGED MY PHONE NUMBER,WHEN THEY PHONED AND LEFT A MESSAGE WITH ONE OF MY CHILDREN TO PHONE THEM BACK IT WAS REGARDING MY DEBT WITH THEM. AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE I THINK I HAD A COMPLAINT IN WITH YCC,OF WHICH I DID NOT GET ANY REPLY WITH SO EVENTUALLY I SUSPENDED PAYMENTS UNTILL I GOT THERE ATTENTION,WELL THE ONLY REPLIES I GOT FROM THAT MOMENT WAS CALL AFTER CALL WANTING THERE PAYMENT,BUT WHEN I TRIED TO EXPLAIN ABOUT MY COMPLAINT ALL THEY SAID IT WAS ANOTHER DEPARTMENT,WHICH WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME,THEN EVENTUALLY THATS WHEN I RECIEVED A LETTER FROM A MIKE PETTIT,CLAIMING TO BE HEAD OF CUSTOMER SERVICES. AT THE END OF THE DAY ALL I WANTED WAS FOR THEM TO LISTEN TO MY COMPLAINT FAIRLY,BUT THIS NEVER HAPPENED,IT WAS NEVER THERE FAULT ANY OF IT,THEY PAINTED THEM SELVES LITTLE ANGELS,BUT THE FIGHTS NOT OVER WITH I WILL SEE MY DAY IN COURT WITH THEM,I KNOW THEY DONT SELL CARS ANYMORE,BUT THEY STILL EXSIST AND SOMEONE WILL ANSWER FROM ONE OF THERE COMPANY NAMES.
