We visited carland just to have a look round. Our car was getting old and we knew we would soon need another car. We tried out 2 cars and decided we liked the Ford Mondeo. Foolishly we signed a used car form. From then on we felt they had us over a barrel. The form had no section for a cooling off period. In fact section 5 seemed quite intimidating. We arranged for the AA to carry out a test which brought up a few things. Which they rectified.

Subsequent phone calls to Mr Rogers determined that the car had no registration documments no service history manual. No history of previous owner(s). Or where the car had come from and no master key. The suggestion the car had been repossesed was strongly denied yet no evidence was supplied to refute such a comment. We expressed our dissatisfaction about the lack of documentation history and security of the vehicle both to Mr Rogers and also to his section manager a Mr Stuart.. I believe who said there was no problem we could change our option to another car...providing it was purchased form CARLAND.

To cut a long story short Mr Rogers was unable to provide us with another similar car. So we felt we had no option but to purchase the car. But my husband noticed the idling speed was 1100 instead of 850 on the way home.... He phoned CARLAND and they said to put it into Halfords garage for them to look at it and find the problem. But then the ABS and the brake light came on together. So we had to find the nearest Ford garage to do a diagnostic test.

The test indicated two faults which could prove to be quite expensive. a defective ECU and a wheel speed sensor. In additon the report states ingress of water to module & loom which have become corroded. Should these parts require full renewal it would be well in excess of a warranty claim. Which they sold us saying the whole car was covered which it is not....Is there anything we can do about this?

should any car be sold without regestration documents? personally i dont think so.and if this is the case give them the car back, or you could also phone the DVLA and explain that you have been sold a car without the documents. i think you should seek advice on this matter to see where you stand with the other matters you have mentioned with the car.good luck with the outcome of this matter.

My brother used Carland in Manchester. Nothing but problems, changed the car twice in 3 months. Last place I would recommend anyone to go.
The sales staff are also extremely rude. thum
