Myself and my partner purchsed a Vectra in July 2003 from YCC. We too were roped into the additional Insurances which we were informed we had to purchase before we could drive the car away. Apart from that first incident there seemed to be no problems.
We had the car a few months and due to change in circumstances we fell into one months arrears but YCC agreed this arrear could be repaid over two months with our next payment. However we then received loads of paperwork and many calls attempting to push us to repay two months payments (totalling over £500.00) in one month as opposed to the agreement we thought we had reached previously.
We did not need the added stress and myself and my partner discussed returning the car to YCC. We did not have any specific problems with it but generally it did not run as well as it should have. It was a fairly new registration plate but the car lacked "oomph".
We contacted YCC informing them of our decision and within a few days were contacted by a gentleman who said he worked for them and that he understood we wished to return the car. We confirmed this and he said he had a delivery to do in our area and would quite happily pick up the vehicle for us and return it to Bristol, where we had purchased it, at no additional charge.
As we were both working this was an ideal solution. The car was collected next day and we awaited to hear what our outstanding charges were for the return of the vehicle.
We had no contact from YCC for months. We then moved house and I contacted YCC by post informing them of the move, giving our new address and asking when we were likely to hear from then as to costs etc. No response was received.
After a year, and several letters to YCC we were suddenly bombarded with letters informing us of bankruptcy proceedings and the usual.
Myself and my partner shortly after separated and both moved to separate accommodation. I gave up work as i was pregnant with my 2nd child and am now surviving on Income Support. On moving I again wrote to YCC giving new details and contact no. Heard nothing for months. Then out of the blue received a phonecall on my mobile, the number of which I had previously supplied together with my new address, from YCC. They complained they had written to me and not received replies and it turned out that they thought I still lived at my previous address, (apparently I had not informed them of my move although strangely they did have my new mobile number).
anyway there are many discrepancies in the amount that they claim we owe them (to the effect of about £4,000.00) and I am constantly writing to them requesting certain documentation ie. receipts for resale of car (they sold a car to me for three times the price they reckon they resold it for less than a year later) and so on....
My last phone call today from GoDebt was a young man, who was rude, quite aggressive in his manner of speaking and who continually interrupted me and demanded answers. I finished the conversaion feeling quite "beat up" and very emotional.
I did however stand my ground and informed him that I am quite aware that I owe a debt but will not begin repayments until a settlement figure has been agreed between myself and Godebt. this apparently means I am unco-operative.
this has now been going on since 2003 and I am at the end of my tether. in some respects i wish they would take me to Court. At least then it would take the matter out of my hands. any advice would be gratefully received on how best to deal with these people.

Enough is Enough
I'm sure you will understand we are not in business either to "upset" people nor on the other hand to make them "happy".
When collecting debt, any agency or law firm will confirm to you that you have difficult conversations, do not always reach agreement and some times have to go to court to get an order.
Difficult conversations and different interpretations of that conversation are not really a revelation.
For me it's more of a revelation that you are obviously happy to accept something at face value without question because it suits you - having said that, judging by your previous postings, maybe I shouldn't be surprised.

Once again we have the usual response and attitude from Godebt employees's including William Rhodes. Is it any wonder his staff have customers making reports like this -----

Thanks for your posting.
It would be most illuminating if your motivation was made clear to all rather than just a few of us.
