I've been sent round in circles. I went to citizens advice about YCC, they told me they haven't got the experts to deal with me and to get in touch with trading standards, so i e/mailed them, they told me to get in touch with consumer direct, they said get in touch with OFT, who then passed my details on to trading standards. hmm

What was the problem that you went to them about?

I contacted yes car a few months ago, because I wanted to end my agreement after 2 years of a 4 year agreement. After exchanging letters and phone calls they told me to take the car back to the nearest yes dealer (Nottingham). I arrived there with the car in the same condition as I got it, and ready to pay the £478.41p balance off the car. They told me that they had contacted direct auto finance, and that my balance was £858.30, which was 2 months car payments and 2 years 2 months non cancellable insurance. After a bit of confusion I was told to go home and ring direct auto finance myself. when I rang I was told £858.30, I told them I just wanted to pay off the car and sort the insurance side of it separately as it says in section 3 of credit agreement. They told me they would get back to me with a new balance. (they haven’t ever been bothered to contact me). Now I know why, because they have sold my debt which I never refused to pay to a company called direct legal and collections who are now demanding £858.30p. I think this is disgraceful as I never missed a single payment in nearly 2 years.

I have been in touch with our forum member from the CAB. They suggest you ask to talk to the in-house debt adviser at your local CAB. They have access to the special support division who are dealing with YCC - Godebt customers.

If your local CAB does not have a in-house debt adviser I would suggest you call another CAB in your local area who does have one.

Or, please make contact with the National Debt Line

Hope this helps.
