Hi, I am new to this forum and although i have now spent an hour or so looking cannot see what kind of success people had returning there cars.
Have read a few from people who said they would not have done it without the help of this forum and that is good news.
What I am looking for is if anyone managed it without penalty.
I like most people was misold the insurance,I knew at the time it was wrong and had quite a heated exchange with the salesman who told me "if you dont have the insurance we wont do the deal and you can keep the old car",Unfortunately the car in our possesion now is the second bought from ycc,This is much better than the first one and we managed to get it for 14.9%apr as opposed to the 29.9% payed on the first.
Although a better deal than the first one it is still poor and the time has come to return the vehicle and walk away,We are being given the usual balonie about paying insurance and being taken to court.
So if you manged it.and walked away without losing anything other than the 2 years payments and the car please can you reply here.
many thanks

Well we are now a little bit further down the line,we received a letter confirming that they have had the letter from us requsting termination,They have advised us that we have met the required payment state. We are going to deliver the vehicle to shoreham auctions (we have to talk to the auctioneers first) some 30 miles away, this i think is resonable, So the vehicle will be returned.
However they are asking for £408.02 for the insurance (£372.03 if i pay one lump sum)
This is where my problem lies,When we purchased the car i stated i did not want the insurance,The conversation was a little heated as i made my feelings clear that i did not want any of these insurances,I was told "The deal is with insurance,If you dont want it you can leave now,in your old car"
I think it is fair to say i was misold these policies.
Once the vehicle is back we will then cross this bridge

Incidently they did want £80.00 to collect the vehicle,Or i would have to return the vehicle to Bradford,
About a four or five hour journey each way for me.
After a little bit of reasoning and asking,It seems there are auction houses all over england where you can deliver them!

I will be calling on Tuesday and will post here a reply. We managed to escape the PPI,the waranty I felt bitter about<I am a main dealer trained technician,So any repairs I could of carried out myself,Any parts i could of sourced at trade price,At the time of purchase i was actuallly managing anAutocentre where we carried out repiars for WHA,the warrenty company yes car had sold us,I knew how the waranty worked and knew not only of the limits this waranty and the fact they paid a labour rate of £29.00 when the going rate was £59.00.This had to be either made up by the customer or lost by the garage, results usually an unhappy mechanic as these guys get a profit linked bonus.
The gap insurance i could see was a total rip off but i was given take it or leave it.
I also knew the actual book price for the car was way above what it should of been.what we would have to pay back over the next two years would today still be well over twice what the car is worth,
I would not mind buying the car back from the auction and selling it on now to try and get back some of the money i spent on:_new brakes ,new exhaust,4 new tyres and the cam belt,

Hi C.

To be fair the gap insurance is probably not the worst insurance that ycc offered. Always comes in handy if the car is a total write off and will pay the finance balance off!

Good luck on Tuesday and please let us have some feedback wink

Hi kev.

Yes, I think I have mentioned it before, Gap is probably the best value for money insurance that YCC offered, I would always take it out when buying a car on finance.

You should be able to claim for the payments you made up untill the car was written off.

The second car that you bought, again Moor Advice claim you will probably be able to have a refund to all the monies you have paid towards the PPI.

I am sure if you call them Tuesday they will give you all the facts and details. wink

Whistle,

Why is the 'Moor Advice' bit closed? - what time will the phone number be published?

Will there be a public feedback area/discussion forum? or do we need to keep cards close to our chest?

A further thought, this site has previously advocated going to the CAB, quite aggressivley, ask for the 'in house debt advisor' 'their building a case' as we know they are a free to use service and 'Moor Advice' are something quite different.

Whats the rationale here, I know the CAB will always be recommended to people with financial difficulties or for people in dispute (and rightly so), but what's changed? - why couldn't CAB resolve the mis-selling issue?

Do the CAB people support the likes of Moor Advice? (we both know the answer!)

If Moor Advice do progress these matters, how will that effect their relationships with financial Institutions they have business relationships with (as they are also a finance broker) and customers who have taken PPI policies on loans they have arranged?

I support your members and all customers of YCC in trying to resolve their issues, just don't support 'Ambulance Chasing' firms.

Douglas, In the detail, etc etc.,

Please take time to read the posts and you will see that the number for Moor Advice will be published on TUESDAY, To give it before then would be pointless as they are closed over Easter. ( You seem quite concerned and anxious about this subject, why not register - our members will be the first to know before unregistered guests)

To answer one of your other posts,:

We are not now saying dont go to CAB, we are just saying we now have Moor Advice on board. The choice is still with our members to use whichever, or both services.
There will be a place for members to report the service they received from Moor Advice. If you need to use them, you will be welcome to give us your feedback.

If you wish to ask anything else, please feel free to ask- Its what we are here for. aaa

Douglas,

YCC practices of selling insurances such as PPI were dishonest and deceitful. The testimonies of this site is proof of their mis-selling.

Moor Advice have set up a dedicated help desk for YCC customers who have been misled when purchasing PPI. Although some people might accuse Moor Advice of being an "Ambulance chasing " firm the fact that they are setting aside resources to help YCC victims is worthy to give them a chance. As we mentioned earlier we will let our users be the judges to their services.

As you know the CAB have been of great help to our users. Besides the mis-selling of PPI they have used legal arguments to question the contracts of YCC. We will still recommend users to seek legal advice through the CAB. Also we do not see at this moment any harm in our users approaching Moor Advice. It is down to our users choice.

Regarding your question to Moor Advice and their business relations to those financial institutions that sell PPI on their loans. Well PPI is a good product providing it is sold in the right spirit unlike YCC did not.

Your dislike of "ambulance chasing" firms and your comments about them are welcome on this site. Please keep visiting this site as a sceptical feeling is sometimes good to have.

baked has got it spot on ,we were all taken in by ycc ,we should welcome any support offered ,so what if moore are "ambulance chasing".at least they recognise we are serious and we have a valid grievance against ycc and are willing to help us.
we have to unite against these people ,they are the scum of the earth ,preying on the unfortunates ,how low can they be taking advantage of those who are struggling with poor credit ratings ,people who are just trying to gain a step on the ladder to make a better life for themselves.
like i said in a previous post ,we have to show these cretins that we are a force to be reckoned with ,we can beat them ,i for one will be in touch with moore advice as soon as ycc get round to demanding the silly money they expect me to pay for the clapped out car they sold me.
i feel we are on the right track ,we all have to stick to our guns on this ,we are in the right.
we can hold our heads up high and say to those who doubt us ,we are united and we will not give in to bully boy tactics or threats ,we are in the right ycc are finished.
lets do this folks let the battle begin ,i know we will win this.

There has been no change here. Over the past year we have build a solid relationship with the CAB and have a number of forum members from the organisation. We will continue with our close relationship and always recommend our guests and members to seek advice from them.
