wellllll, you may remember a few weeks back i told you that i was with holding the final £800 of my ycc account. The reasons being that a) they took the deposit i paid off the insurances and not the price of the car...b) they charged £550 for breakdown cover i didnt want !! anyway since my last post on here ive been in constant contact with direct auto finance and finally today ive recieved a letter from them saying that under the circumstances they are willing accept £200 in final settlement......well although i'm really pleased to be finally winning i'm still holding out untill they agree i owe nothing as i'm now sure they eventually will
Sooooo my advice to you all is .....do as ive done and keep on at them till they have to listen and dont get frightened by their threats..........i'll keep you posted but as far as i'm concerned ive won this one !!!

I have a sneaky feeling they would accept £200 (losing out on £600) because of the current amount of investigation and legal advances against YCC

it looks like they will try and recoup whatever amount they can before they are in a position where they will get nothing

who in their right mind would write off 75% of a debt if it was legally owed?

NO-ONE!!!!!

Hi Steve,
I totaly agree with you, i'm sure it has a lot to do with the amount of complaints they are getting but i'm still going to hold out untill the whole amount is written off. Ive paid over £11000 so i think they've done pretty well out of me. I have no complaints about the car itself, its just the insurances that i didnt want and the deposit not being deducted that fired me up..but...as i said finally they seem to realise that they have got to do something and as you said ..get what they can while they still can.

I would like to thank everyone here for the advice i have been given and most of all to the people who set up this site as without it i wouldnt have known just how many people have grievances with YCC and would most likely have just paid up but you all gave me the fight i needed so i owe my thanks to all of you.
I hope that you can all sort your problems out with YCC and will continue to read your posts and offer help where i can now that my problems are almost sorted.
Love to you all
Jude

well done and hopefully all of us with grievences will be given a satisfactory resolution

I paid em nearly 5k in 2yrs for a car worth approx 3 1/2k, so even if everyone manages to get the remainder written off they will have still made a tidy sum considering how many cars they sold overall especially as they would probably have sold mine on for another £1000+
