My mortgage went from about £1200 per mth to over £2000 after the first year thanks to their small print (it went up to 9.something %). This is on a one bedroom flat! I was given 3 year payment figures by the broker & I can (after one year)wasnt mentioned there, it was only mentioned when it was too late. Brokers get a fortune in commission from them so are very happy to put business their way. I ended up having to sell after they kept trying to reposess and even though my sale was due to exchange in just a couple of days they took me to court to try & kick me out, so they could make more profit than the tens of thousands of interest & redemption penalties they were already making. My lawyer tells me they would have sold the property through an estate agent at a bargain basement price, the property would then be sold on at market value & then they will get a nice kickback - whilst I would have lost EVERYTHING I worked so hard for. If Id rented it out to try & meet my mortgage they would have jacked the rate up so much any extra would have been swallowed up. In the end I sold for a decent price by myself, but then, lo & behold they made a 'mistake' on my redemption figure & managed to extort another £300 from me 3 weeks after the sale completed! All in all they made a fortune from me & I wish to God Id never used them. Please avoid them at all costs. NO house is worth this. |

Words cannot express how I feel about this company. You are not alone. I completed this week on my house after exactly the same thing. They sent out a redemption statement dated till 31st of month even though my solicitor requested correct date. I sold my house £30 thousand under its value. All figures on statement incorrect but was told I had to pay or they would not release my property. My solicitor is really pissed off and says the way I have been treated is discusting. Today my solicitor sent kensington a letter demanding over £4000 be returned to me because of there incorrect figures one so bold as exactly to the penny double the true figure. If thats their game take a figure and double it. TAKE THIS I WANT £8000 back for the stress and loss of equity and for the companies stance that they will not help when you get into trouble. ITS NOT THEIR POLICY!!!! AVOID KENSINGTON MORTGAES AT ALL COST!!! OR IT WILL COST YOU DEARLY!!!!

Hi I am so sorry you are having problems, I am being charged £50 every month because I am behind on my secured loan, why I took it out I do not know how stuppid of me..I have a suspended order by them over my property. they will not even change the repayment date on the loan to come out on my pay day to help us!!!!.... But I am trying to emigrate to Australia and when I have sold my house I am going to start proccedings to recover every penny!!!!!! I have found the following forum that brought me to this site very good http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/ They helped me recover unfair bank charges totalling £5,000 from Nationwide so I am just waiting to take them to court!!!! Good Luck |
