found this on penaltycharges.co.uk about welcome car finance. seems like DAF aren't the only ones charging extortionate amounts but at least Welcome's customers get informed of the increases

thats what the people on the other site were saying. They also asked if these letters were being written on gold parchmnet paper for £10 a time.

lets just hope DAF don't cotton on to the idea of charging for them ringing you because its bad enough they already make money out of us when we ring that 0870 number.

Only a question of time before they do. Also the likes of Godebt will not be far behind.

It seems to me these companies are not interested in providing a service but just want to make you owe them so they can do things like this. The more stories we get out and make aware the public of the dangers of going to such companies the better. Sooner as well.

Their is a Welcome Car finace place not far from me. The temptation to go there and listen to their spill then fire all these questions at them. Ummmmmm.

yeah why not, somebody has to get to the bottom of these charges and how exactly companies such as these can justify such extortionate amounts. what makes me laugh is how they can charge £10 for a phone call anyway. Nobody is asking them to call you so how can they justify it.

Take an average week for me when all my hassle with YCC began. They would phone me between 6-8 times a day and leave messages; they wold send up to 8 text messages a day and send 2 letters a week.

so, if they charged £10 for every call they made (even if they just left a voicemail), thats 6x10x6=£360; 8 texts at 10p say thats 8x10x6=£4.80 nad 2 letters at £15 a time so £30.

if DAF had had these stupid charges then and had been adding this money to my arrears, in just a week theycould have added almost £400!!! frightening to think about really isn't it
