Hi all,

I bought a car from Welcome car finance at the beginning of November 2006, had it 4 weeks and the car would not start therefore i contacted Welcome Car Finance after Sales and explained the situation they advised me to take it to the Nationwide garage for inspection and repairs the car was in the garage for a week and a half with £900.00 worth of jobs done on it which after many arguments was covered under warranty as the garage wanted me to pay £150.00 towards costs at this point i had only made 1 payment on the car. Also when i picked the car up from the garage they informed me the car had been in there garage in April for a new Crank Shaft.

Therefore I contact the Welcome garage in Knowlsey and explained this vechicle is not fit for the purpose it is intended and i want to exchange this for another one, they refused to do this and the only thing they could do is roll over finance off this car on to another after i have made 3 payments which i find appaling. It has been 5 weeks now since I have sent my letter of complaint to them and requested the Regional Manager to contact me to discuss this further. without any reply.

Now this week my car is making noises so i once again contacted welcome after sales team who advised me to take it back to the garage they inspected the vehicle and stated "its just a noisy injector it will be fine" These injectors were replaced by them in December. I have called the after sales team once again today who have advised me to book it in to the garage and they will change them under warranty. This car is causing me to have no transport as in the 3 months I have had it, something is constantly wrong with it.

Therefore today i have sent another letter of complaint and contacted trading standards and the dti hoping for some advice as i feel i will have endless problems and i am not willing to make payments on a car thats is faulty.

Welcome to the forum.

I would be insisting on Welcome changing the car. If you have had all of these problems in a matter of a few months it doesnt look too good to what the next few years are going to be like.

I would be advising them that you have lost all confidence in the car and want it changing.

Don't get fobbed of by the sales or manangment team at Liverpool. Get Trading Standards involved ASAP and get intouch with the owners of Welcome Finance, Cattles PLC

Hi,

I have been on to Trading Standards who are currently looking in to this, I have called Cattles Plc and put in a complaint who said "someone will call you back within 24 hours" replied by saying this is a disgrace.

No employee at Welocme Car Finance or Cattles can give me the number of the Regional Manager therefore I am now stuck once again.

Called Welcome Car Finance in Warrington who have advised me to take the car back and trade it in and roll over the finance on to another car, I don't think this is right as they have supplied a car to me which is constantly faulty why should I pay anymore money for this car?

I don't have any way of speaking to someone with Authority at Welcome Car Finance.

Thanks

Hi,

I have contacted various people who have advised me that Welcome Finance should exchange the car but I now have to wait 14 days for the case to be investigated.

Also I have been in contact with a garage they say I should be able to trade my car in with them and get a new credit agreement is this correct or am I unable to sell the car as i have only had it 3 months?

Any advice would be appreciated

This will not be an option as the settlement amount owed on your car with Welcome Finance will far out way any price that a garage will be able to offer.

I don't know the amount of finance that you have taken out, but with the interest added plus any insurance's that you may have taken too, you can maybe add on £3000 - £4000 on top of the screen price that the car was sold at.

You need to be demanding that the agreement is cancelled by Welcome, don't be waiting another 14 days! they will only be fobbing you off.

They have told me to wait 14 days for a reply and in the meantime to send them copies of my car documents for them to see what kind of finance agreement I have with them

Hi,

I have spoken to the Manager of the garage today who has informed me he has spoken to the Regional Manager who is not prepared to exchange the vehicle as it can be repaired under warranty as I had to pay extra at the start of my agreement for Warranty for the 42 months.

What is the situation if i just stop making payment to make them realise i am not prepared to have a faulty car from them, or to take the car back to the garage and leave ot there?

Any advice would be helpful as I am now at the end of my tether with this company.

On the……(date)… I purchased ……(state make and registration number)…………..from …..(give retailers name and address)……….. The item was supplied on a hire- purchase/conditional sale agreement with yourselves.

I am therefore holding you responsible under the Supply of Goods (Implied Terms) Act 1973. I wish to reject the goods and claim a refund/(*)or I wish to claim a free repair.

(*) Your entitlement will depend upon the nature of the fault (s) and how soon after purchase you report the problem to the seller. If it is a major fault that is reported soon after the date of purchase, you should be in a position to reject. Looking at your particular problems, I would be going for a full refund.
