Hi all

Just got a little problem that i could do with some advice on, i was behind on payments in Jan and was entitled to VT in Feb (the majority of the debt being charges/penalties),
so i phoned in feb to discuss a repayment plan to payoff what i owe on car repayments which was agreed untill i mentioned i was'nt happy with the charges, straight away the agreement was cancelled and i was told i had to pay the full amount to bring me up to date at which point i hung up,
i called the following day to try and make a payment and was refused which mean't the account now been passed on to a collection agency, i had sent a SARN in on the 8th Feb but have had nothing back yet.
My point is all i want to do is VT but they won't let me because of arrears which they won't let me pay, any advice?

to give you an idea of charges they say i have to pay £896 but the actual car repayment is about £400 which i'm willing to pay in installments to clear so i can VT.

If they havent terminated the agreement then you can it is that simple, you will be liable for any arreras and payment to take you up to the 50% mark, but they cant stop you terminating just because you have arreras, send them the letter to terminate make sure you keep a copy of it and send it recorded delivery. hmm

Send the ternination letter in. That is your right under a HP agreement.

See what they come back with regarding a settlelement. If it includes charges then refuse to pay these but offer to pay the arrears.

The reason you give for not paying the charges are "not reasonable" as described on the contract.

Here you have kept within your contract so any threatening action from YCC will be of little effect.
