That indeed is the million dollar question of how do we prove that we were told that the insurances were mandatory.

Well at present we have a class action against YCC. When we get our judgement this will help our cause considerable. Also the reputation of YCC through the courts is spreading which will help our cause.

when I sold PPI for a company who had storecards we used to get commission - fair enough it was only £2 an account with PPI - but for some people it meant an awful lot. We had a guy who could open on average 30 accounts in an 8 hour shift and he worked 5 days a week - so on average he could make £300 a week (on a good week) and thats a lot in retail (as it was tax free). However, it came to light just before we became FSA regulated that he had not been telling customers about the PPI. He had just been getting them to sign the box for it and by the time they realised they had it it was too late to cancel - he got the sack soon after and made to pay all the money he had made back to keep it out of court.

Now if he was willing to go to those extremes for £2 a time - imagine the lengths those at YCC might go to?!

a group action is being compiled by stephensons. This is where a handful of cases have been put together and will be heard in court at the same time - as far as I am aware it will be heard in Birmingham. This is so that if we win it can be used to set a precedent for any other case and then these should be a formality.
